It is supossed that Australia import a lot of clothes from China. But I also know that some of the clothes are not a good quality. That is why I am really interested about importing clothes from South America to Australia, specially from Peru. What dou you think about that??

The answer to this question  is purely personal:     China's prodcution in all the products are very huge:It is difficult for them to supply small quantities: But they are not leaving even small orders: sometimes due to the negligence there is quality problem: but this is not intentional:   For varieties, small quantity fabrics, apparels and etc you can source in India, the next big supplier of textiles, apparels and other related items in the world.

I am really interested n importing clothes from Peru, because my family have an export clothes company there. Their products are from a good quality. Do you think it is difficult to import from there to Australia?

Hi Lisseth, if Peru clothes cheaper than China products you can try...but customs, shipping and other spendings can eat all your future profit. I think it will be hard to win because big shops have sales etc all the time. And it looks like people don't care where it comes from.
What about "Buy Australian"?[em1]
Good luck to you!

Replying to [Lisseth]:China does have quality clothes. It is just that you pay what you get for.

Why look so far from Peru? You can get quality clothes (ready made ot custom made) at reasonable (not cheap) price from Malaysia too. Moreover, you need not have to buy in huge quanity.

Replying to [Lisseth]:Id you want to buy small quantities then you can buy from Australia itself. I mean to say importing may not be viable for small quantities. However if you indeed feel so you can go ahead.

Dear Lisseth,

Compare your importing cost with the importing cost from other countries. If there is good difference, then u can raise your target price and get better quality from other countries , even from China.

You will still have advantage on teh overall importing cost.

regards

Good luck to you in this, Lissbeth, but I would suggest that you check very carefully the shipping costs. As far as I know, there is no direct line from Peru to Australia so you would have to trans-ship, so double-check, especially if you will be importing LCL quantities
