Dear adseaco,

Thank you for your kindness![em21]

We do not produce replicas![em1]

Dear Friend,

It good to hear that you do not produce replicas.

I may have, until now, bought and sold millions of 'clocks and watches' for various promotional activities.

There is no doubt, clocks and watches, remain to be all time favourite for all such event.

Clock and Wrist Watch movements, are already coming into India from China, perhaps by weight.
The clock and wrist watch industry in India, is based and has its roots, in a place called Morbi, Gujarat.

The brand 'Titan' by Tata's are the leaders in the wrist watch activities here in India, earlier though the market was captured by HMT.

You will find interesting reading a topic posted by me '' Size Matters--Watch as slim as the top edge of a wineglass'' .

This industry is very competitive. You need to be a brave heart to sell.

Best of Luck.

Dear William,

The clue that you need to get is that, in India and perhaps everywhere else in the world,  Brands Sell, all others struggle to find a place in the market.

My suggestion to you would be to concentrate on the parts that go in the manufacturing of clocks, watches, time pieces and more particularly the movement of the watch.

Also, on low cost, volume based--but tailor made wrist watches, time pieces and clocks that are used for promotional activities.

'Ajanta' a renowned name, having its manufacturing and assembling facilities at Morbi, has also a base in China.

The other renowned names here are 'Orpat', 'Samay', besides the one you have been able to find.

Every nook and corner of India has it's own speciality.

It also, depends largely on the product/goods/services you happen to seek and the ones you have interest to import.

Remember, it is not all that easy, walking into a country/city worldwide looking for goods. One needs to have knowledge and contacts before hand.

Goods/Services are not found on the road side anywhere in the world.

Plan your visit..when there are exhibitions and trade fares..that will help you find by and large everything under one roof.
