What kind of oil or perfume that Indian women (or men) often wear? I am asking this question because whenever I take a bus to work, there are Indian passengers who always wear the same perfume. The scent is very unique and it is the same in many countries I have been to. It is some kind of religious scent? Some kind of oil aromas?

You are travelling with those women....By the way, why do you stay so close to them?? so as to smell the perfume in their hair...

But, with my long nose..which to some extent is.....they should be using...'Coconut Hair Oil'.

Replying to [Thomas1976]:Thoamas, I also can not say which fragrance are you talking about, It might be of coconut oil as Sunil said, It can be of sandal as normally we put a tilak or tip of sandal in the morning.

Perfume and deo also become popular in India, but the consumption is more in Japan.

Can you please tell me why Indian put on this type of oil? Is it because Indian religious ritual? or it is simply just a hair oil for cultural reason?

Coconut Oil.....is being massaged on our heads... since and by our....great-great 'Grand Ma' days.

It has been told to us that this oil... has great...hair nursing properties, vital for long...strong...healthy hair.
