I am a buyer from UK. I had to supply batteries from China.
For finding a suitable supplier
1. I had to first research my product thoroughly and find out the specifications and certifications that are required to sell the product here.
2. Calculate the margin which I needed to pocket in order to make this trade a success.
3. Find out what my competitors are charging and how and also which brand?
4. Then search on various B2B platforms to find a supplier which has been facility and exporter license as I would not be in a position to come over to China to set up a company for exporting the goods.
5. Ask for references, negotiate MOQ, sample price, certifications etc.
6. Check the references, do some search over the company name to see any negative feedbacks left by someone.
7. Finally check with a shipping/postal agency regarding the costs to ship the product to UK.
and thats it ... you are allmost done to selling your products.
There is one point where cost can be saved by buyers. For ex. I have shortlisted my supplier from city of Ningbo. I would in future need a person who could have a computer and a printer. I would then be able to directly send him the addresses of the end customers and that person could directly mail the product to the customer.
This would save me the shipping cost of first shipping the product to London and then further posting it to end customer.
What are your thoughts about it tianye? I would like to know how can a small buyer setup a small logistics centre in Ningbo so as to save on the shipping costs?

Replying to [britishh]Hi britishh, sorry for late reply ,but hope my following answer will work for you.
Firstly thank you for your valuable information. We as sellers will benefit much from it.
To save your cost,it's greatly necessary to build up an center in the city where you run most of your businesses.
You pay some money and hire some one working for you.
Then what can you get from this?
1.it's easy for you to get better quotes in a short time.
you send your enquiries to your partner, and he/she help you with these enquiry, negotiation
2.you don't have to worry about scam.Your partner will easily help you identify the credit standing of the factory.
3.you take less risks of product qualities.you don't have to pay extra money to inpect the goods, just advise your inspection requirements then your partner does this for you.
4.save your shipping cost. This is obvious and here we can get better
shipping cost then you do in your country.
How do you think of these ?Hope to share more ideas with you.

I am familar with a freight forwarding agent that can provide one stop shop tailored to small buyers. They can save you a lot on logistics costs, paperwork and time. They can organize all the small shipments and consolidate them as a large shipment and store the small shipments for a short period of time, say 7 days of free time, until all the goods are ready. They can take care of the entire document (Packing liast, Invoice and Form A, etc) required for customs entry in your own country. They also serve as your agent to perform on-site inspection as the goods are loaded into containers, alerting you to inferior products. They help you verify your suppliers and protect you from getting scammed. All of this are available at a flat and fair rate.

to trust each other is very important,to become friends first.
But for different countries we live in,it's not so easy to make foreign friends. So in this sense ,friendship should be produced from business relationship,I mean when you have done business with each other for a long time ,your style has been accepted by your partner, and you completly stand with them and think for their benefit.
through these your friendship has formed .So between you there are more chances to work on business.
