Moderators for 6-mth Trust Pass Selection

This is our suggestion, the criteria to select the 5 moderators for the 6 month Trust Pass Gifts from Alibaba as token of appreciation for their hard work not popularity, or MVPs.


Use this fair way to choose by the Number of Postings, No. of Replies, No. of Questions, No. of Answers and No. of Best Answers. Of course, the older moderators, i.e. moderators who have been on board for longer period of time, have the advantage.


From the 8 candidates, the findings are as below:

If you were to take the average of the rankings, the results will be very much different from the MVPs total they have.

iAlternatively, you can give 100 points to first. 50 points to second and 30 points to third position in the rankings. Add up their points, total tally and select the first 3 most active moderators. Give more weights to this selection than the votes, because it is only based on popularity and politics. Give 60% weights for the activity counts and 40% for the polls.

This is just my suggestion, of course, we cannot question the giver of the Gifts, or look at a gift horse in the mouth, but just to be logical and on the side of fairness in the evaluation, this is done by other forum boards and it works well and is answerable to queries over abuse and malpractices.

Replying to [Street Smart]:I liked your suggestion but the thing is Mods have extra power over normal members, I mean can awards Best answers to themselves. They are working for their own interest, I mean there is no compulsion for them to being a mod. They are also free as they can work a per their own convenience. Here I must name that Ranger and Foow are stretching themselves to help others I mean the new bies.

I know because we live in different time zones and at times I have seen them working when they should be sleeping.

Moderators have no control over the forum in other sectors. There are also the number of answers which Macs scores a whopping 1666 Answers.

Yes, you are right only in the domain of the Mod. they can award the Best answers to themselves and recommend postings by their own.

Eventually only one account seems to be upgraded to Trust Pass, what about the other 4 as promised? All of the moderator candidates are chasing a wild goose or trying to catch the dragon.

The least Alibaba can do is to give half TP free and ask them to pay for the other half for a one year membership.
