Place Trade Leads on alibaba, but NOT here in the forums.
To turn small customers into big ones, you have to wait a few years until they grow their business.

Customers continue to require your service long after you send the goods. Spare parts, servicing repairs, advertisement material, manual and guides. Help your customer the best you can, don't be greedy and aim for big profit from the word go, profit takes time.
Give your customer room to make profit too, the more profit he makes the faster he grows his business and the more stock he will order from you.

You need to creat promotional strategies so that you company existence been known to outer world. Some of them include :
a) Website
b) Trade Portals like alibaba, etc
c) Directories advertisements
d) Become of of chamber of commerce
e) Exhibitions
f) Customs import/export documents
g) Write or fax to prospect customer
h) Cold Calling
and many more.
A customer to you much valueable be it small or big. It's all depends on your service and customer satisfaction to turn him/her as your biggest one.
