Block Indonesian IP address from accessing Alibaba !
In this day and age when so many people have been scammed out of money by the Indonesian people why do Indonesians still have access to Alibaba ?

True there is the chance that there is at lest ONE legit Indonesian supplier out there however for the thievery of the majority the possibility of a small MINORITY will suffer.

Hi, i think that is a very shocking statement to make.

It is most likely the other way around - the small minority of scum and scavengers of Indonesia are giving the majority of legitimate business owners a bad name!

People are most likely being scammed by the same disgusting and vile scums of the earth rather than the 1:1 ratio (scums:people being scammed).

Take the Chinese for example. Their rep is so tarnished that websites are running to expose them. Eg

http://www.firetrust.com/en/blog/chris/the-bigger-list-of-chinese-scams

If you were to tally up all the legitimate bussiness and all those vile creatures who call themselves humans, i'm sure you'll find that there are more legitimate businesses than not. What about the loathsome Nigerians?

You really should do an audit before you make such a leap of generalisation.

I would guess that the reason Indonesian companies have access to Alibaba is that there are plenty of legitimate and decent hardworking companies within their ranks.

You are perfectly entitled to your viewpoint ,but it does come across as a very sweeping generalisation . Go to any B2B site and the chances of meeting less than truthful companies is in them. Completely regardless of their country .I dont know the statistics %s for scammers (per country comparisons),based on per head of poulation. . But I would hazard a guess that per head of population there is a similarity of numbers between them .

To use your point of (quote ) ""for the thievery of the majority the possibility of a small MINORITY will suffer.""" . I think its the other way around ,meaning ,the majority suffer because of the thievery of the minority. And that is for ANY country.

Using these sites for potential business has got everything to do with appropriate due diligence , before entering in to exchange of money for products .

Just recently I have been in a fair bit of contact with 4-5 suppliers in Indonesia. Call it luck on my part ,call it appropriate due diligence on my part , call it whatever. But these suppliers are ,so far , showing and checking out as legitimate and are simply in the business to deal with like minded companies.

There again ,I am not dealing with them for any so called internationally recognised brand name product.Which is an important point to make. The brand name game is scam central and riddled with dodgy companies. But ,ALL countries have this problem in brand names.

I am just starting out in the importing market ,but I am learning fast that due diligence is a major part of the game. And that ALL countries have their share of the scammers.Learning to differentiate scam from legitimate ,is in the learning curve.

Supposed Indonesian IP address was blocked, do u think Indonesian real companies will care? Scammers will stop? None.

FYI, Indonesian real companies mostly don't earn their living through Alibaba or any other website as well. They, many times, don't even realize that they've been registered in some B2B websites until somebody phoned them and asked why they haven't send the products as ordered.

Last, but not least, scammer are all around the world. I have been contacted by too many 'so called legitimate' US companies which can not be trusted at all and some of them, don't even exist. [em8]

Btw, if all of us are crooked, scammers, and so on, and so on, we wonder why so many foreign companies in here. What they are doing? Can you tell me?

[em2]

Justice maybe blind, but it can see in the dark !!!
