I'm moving to Florida from Vancouver, Canada next month and wanted to get more information on the rules of importing from China to the Tampa/Miami area. Once I receive the products (mostly women's apparel and accessories), approx 80% will be used locally (in Florida) but the remaining portion will be exported from Florida into Western Canada for distribution. Hi. I live in Washington State, and I have been purchasing from China for a few years now, but it has been in small orders and they usually ship to me by EMS shipping and then when the items arrive they are either shipped to me by USPS or UPS or DHL. I am now venturing into opening my own clothing store and have some concerns on the proper way to order from companies and the correct way to have them shipped to me. Many of my items are Japanese and Korean brands and fashions like Vivicam and others. So I am trying to do everthing correctly so my orders wont get held in USA customs. So if you find out any information that can help me make my business a success.........please let me know what you find out.

Hi - Well after those depressing answers how about some positive STUFF? Your on Alibaba.com and the gold members are pretty good. That is for sourcing - if you ship from China just split the shipment and that way you will not have to pay twice - some to Canada and some to USA.

But if you are just starting out I think buying from China could be a little bit MUCH to start with. How about going to LA to the apparel area bring a nice big suitcase and lots of cash - get what you want - sell it and be happy then grow slowly.
