Survey: Transaction Feedback on Buyers and Sellers - Agree or Disagree plus your comments why!
Post 1 of 12
Please take your time and let us all know what your comments are about a FEEDBACK System on Alibaba.com.
Similar to Ebay.com I am hoping this survey will prompt the powers here in Alibaba to consider adding a feedback area that will allow all businesses to check what other users say about each buyer and seller pertaining to their business with the other party.
Yes this is a sensitive topic but very crucially needed. It should be monitored and verified so every comment can be verified and prevent fraudulent use of the system.
We all need this type of resource and it will make Alibaba a much better resource.
Please help us make this place more productibe, by completing this survey. Your comments do count. Please give us all your concerns and suggestions!
Thank you

I second your motion. As a supplier, I have received quite a number of inquiries and responded to them the best way I could. Majority of the buyers did not even respond. It would be good to have the feedback system you have suggested if it helps to make such kind of buyers exercise a bit of courtesy even just to say thanks but no thanks. It would also raise awareness among sellers about what buyers are looking for in a company they want to deal with such as you have written in your wonderful article.

you easily say it can't be done? why do you think it can't be done?
Isn't Ebay already doing it? What about PayPal and other larger sites?

I think I could understand what Wilhelm is trying to say. Your proposal it seems has been put forward a number of times but since there has been no attempt to put all those postings together into one collection newcomers would have to dig into the past postings and find them.

Replying to [odyssey999]: Odyssey, you talk about an ebay system of feedback. However, what is the one thing ebay has knowledge of that Alibaba does not? Alibaba, has no information that any deal actually occured between the two parties or the specifics of the deal. Placing a section such as this without that first hand knowledge could produce slanderous acts against legitimate hard working buyers and sellers by any individual(s) selling or buying comparable products. If you set a system up to be abused, it will be abused.
On another note would you be willing to allow Alibaba to be the middle man in transference of funds between buyer and seller? Much the same as an escrow company would preform, in that they did not release funds until all parameters of the deal were completed to the satisfaction of the two parties and appropriate documents supplied? This could be the next step for Alibaba in promoting a greater trust between buyer and seller on a global scale. This way a rating system could come into being. Please note that this is only an idea and those ultimate decisions come from Alibaba management.
Best regards,
Ranger

In my personal oppion we could start some topic where they call "The Good, The Bad and the ...... "you know what.
The Good: Where people can list the good experience with buyer/supplier if they choose to do so.
The Bad: Is for supplier/buyer with bad experience. For deal that when thru but did not meet the standard of one party.
The Urgly: For people to list the scammer site and scam deal they get stuck with.
they can list just a few words like link to the website, good or bad thing happen, it do not have to be in detail.
let hear some more of your thought on this.

Maybe you are right about past postings but did anyone ever try to research anything in this forum?
First off when you type your posting or question and you don't use line breaks it looks like a big glob of letters. Yes Alibaba does lack professional web creation techies, but I am sure if they want to go IPO they'll need to invest in the look and feel of their site.
By the way what Ebay has in technology they lack in look and feel. But they seem to understand what it takes to help it's customers. What Alibaba needs to do is first hire the finest coders (enterprise code writers and business development managers to direct the website development) Second, Alibaba does not need to be a middle man in the transactions, there are many companies that can be partners here to do that and Alibaba can make an override on all transactions for finding the clients. Third, what Alibaba can do is provide a business/personal verification system in place where you can verify your personal data with Alibaba and then if there is a legal issue Alibaba can provide the information upon a procedure to either party so legal action can be sought and concluded.
Alibaba needs to be proactive here, in order for their clients to purchase additional services and for them to creat more revenue streams. Alibaba has the makings to become a "BIG" Plyer in online commerce. Hopefuly they will see the same future I forcast they will have if they follow their dreams.

if you search on the internet there are many independent websites that let anyone post what they want and it's not policed. What Alibaba can do is provide a proceedure that can be verified by the use of documentation and 3rd party input.
Just by paying a set amount to become a GOLD MEMBER or TRUST MEMBER you are not guaranteed that they are good apples. I know for one company already, but there is no information on how to report the company to Alibaba. They need to hire a staff to handle complaints on both sides. Technically they are facilitating the crimes that take place and can be sued for letting these things happen.
The buck does not stop here nor does liabilities... Alibaba will have a major LAW SUIT if they do not understand what they are getting into.
I hope they read this forum and heed my forcasts!!!!!
