The order disappear suddenly!

Dear my friend,
How are you? I almost got a large order these days, but the order disappear suddenly! [em4] I don't understand! Please advice me your idea, thank you.[em17]

Last year (2007) in DEC., I have received an inquiry abour our Pocket knife from Alibaba.com,I reply him very soon, because the QTY is large, so I quoted him the best reasonable price.

Two days later, he replyed me, said the price is ok, but he want to change another Pocket knife, with the LOGO on it, ask for price, I gave him too.

The next day, he replyed me said the knife looks good, and he will have holidays soon (Christmas Day), he hope me send the sample to him with the LOGO.when he came back from holidays, he will get my sample, and place the order soon, I also done it.[em17]

On the JAN. 3th, I have received him message, he get my sample, and he will discuss with his Client, and tell me the decision.

The next day, he ask me to confirm the leadtime of 62000PCS, and he want we can offer 32000PCS at the end of JAN. He will place the order next day. I confirm all the information about it,

I am glad to wait his contract untill his Email. [em9]

In his Email, there is no any contract, just cancel the order! [em23] He said, he appreciate my service, and my price is ok.but the quality is not so good, the quality of competitors samples details were better.So he choosen other supplier for business.[em8]

By now, I don't understand why he change his idea suddenly! Why the order disappear suddenly! [em24]

Who can help me for answer? [em21] Thank you very much!

Replying to [lindy]:Hello, I sometimes get a similar situation. I have clients ask for a quotation for somthing ( parts, equipment, ect ). I search for the item they request. I then quote the price including shipping, delivery time and customs cost. After I do all of that for them I find out that they are buying from someone else, or they tell me they don´t have the money to buy it at this time![em5][em6] It is very frusterating, but it is also part of doing business.

That's because during the client asking for price from you, he also got many suppliers who are your competitors and asks them their price. After he got all the prices, he compared it and chose the best one he can accept. If your price is higher than your competitors, the client is definitely to choose the cheaper one base of the same quality. That is the competition!

Replying to [lindy]:just forget the instance and start a fresh. explore properly, you might get a better order.
Write a thanks mail to the buyer for acknowledgment, and asking to keep your contact in record for near future. ( If possible talk to him over phone and understand the problem he faced in your product, may be your product need quality improvement)

Dear Lindy,

I'm a buyer and I can confirm that your potential customer surely had got a better price from another supplier. Or your product quality was really so good to buy at the price you offered. I can tell you so because, since I', a buyer, I compare several offers and qualities. But to take the last decision I need to compare the samples quality: some supplyer s praice their product, always confirm that it's a sper my request buy once I check the samples, the result is negative...

In few words, dear Lindy, the buyer take the right decision once have everything in hand: probably can get the same price for two different qualities: Pls know that I have got several time a lower price for a prime quality about the product I require and an expansive price for a standard quality! I was lucky sometimes.

I hope you also be more lucky and get all orders you want!!
