Philosophy of life
Post 1 of 13
"Everyone seems to have a clear Idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own."

What do you think about this statement? Why cant we just lead our own life without people around you telling you want to do? Is this a better way of life, ignore other people's advice and heed your own?

When you comment on others, you just talk; to pursuit your own, you have to do by yourself. Of course, to do is more difficult than to say

Replying to [Thomas1976]: Dear Thomas,
Can we live alone without other people influence?
Should we get well with others or ignor them?
Do you happy if you stay alone by yourself?
Suggest you to live in some place where no any other person but yourself. You are free to do anything you love or you like.
What will be the feelings?
Without comparisons you can tell it is bitter or sweet for life.

This sounds like the egg and chicken riddle, which one was first.
You can live your life without taking advices, of course yes, but do you know what do you want in life? do you know what it takes to get there? then you need to interact with people and get advice on your proyects and dreams. But it is also true that you need to be a doer to put to the test what has benen said, so you master the intricacies of life and start developing startegies on how to get there.
Also in the interaction with people, learning from the best, from the leaders, from the winners, finding out what they do, how they organize their live, you could use that as a reference and try to move in that direction.
At the end is a mix of independency and getting advices that will nurture your experience to get a better understanding what can you do with your life. When you strat getting bad advices is when you get into the mood to be alone, but when you don't reach your goals, you get in the mood for sound advice.

The balance of both experiences are necessary for you to develop what you want to do in life. So don't go extreme and use one side only, you may miss valuable leranings from sound advices.

Live your life happily.

Replying to [Thomas1976]:This is not the 'Philosophy of Life'.....
Philosophy of Life is: The discovery of what is true and the practice of that which is good.

It is not the attainment of the goal that matters....it is the things that are met with by the way.

As far as advice is concerned.....we all need it...from time to time....by the experts...and are also ready to pay for it as well. But, most of the time we shrug it.... when it comes free of cost.

Vicente....has rightly said that ..we have to differentiate...ourselves..between a bad and a sound advice which is freely available. [em7]

Thank you for your comment, and kind advise.

"Philosophy of Life is: The discovery of what is true and the practice of that which is good."

However, I have to humbly disagree. The discovery of what is true cannot be attained because truth is only known by God, and therefore, "the practice of that which is good" can only be assumed good if it pleased others.

For example, Muslim, Christian, and Jew all know the truth of their religion beliefs and lead their life according to God, but they practice respectively in a different way that are good in the eyes of their peers. But they all believe in the same God......

In my opinion, it is a part of many "philosophy of life"...I would have made the Subject less general and more specific of what I wanted to post, but I think it is not that necessary...

The ultimate goal in life is to seek your dream without pressure from others and to appreciate and be proud of that process even if you fail to achieve.

It is the process for not/or listening the advice of other that make it difficult for man to continue their dreams. It is the pride of a man who fail to admit his mistake that make it difficult for achieving greatness.

So, it my opinion, it is not the listening/filtering of good advice that is important. Rather, it is the ability to not be afraid of what is the right advice/way and to use that as your philosophy of life to live fully in this world.

I am truly sorry if this does not make any sense. It is quite a difficult subject.....hehehehe.....[em2]

Clearing some Fundas………….

Philosophy / Religion

There are some real differences between religion and philosophy which are worth considering as they are two different types of systems even though they overlap in places.

~ Religions have rituals. In religions, there are ceremonies for important life events (birth, death, marriage, etc.) and for important times of the year (days commemorating spring, harvest, etc.).

~ Philosophies, however, do not have their adherents engage in ritualistic actions.

~ Philosophy tends to emphasize just the use of reason and critical thinking whereas religions may make use of reason, but at the very least they also rely on faith, or even use faith to the exclusion of reason.
Agreed, there are any number of philosophers who have argued that reason alone cannot discover truth or who have tried to describe the limitations of reason in some manner — but that isn’t the quite the same thing.

~ Philosophies are not revelations from a God.

~ Philosophies rational arguments — those arguments may not also prove valid or successful, but it is the effort which differentiates their work from religion.

~ In religion, and even in ‘religious philosophy’, reasoned arguments are ultimately traced back to some basic faith in God, or religious principles which have been discovered in some revelation.
A separation between the sacred and the profane is something else lacking in philosophy.

~ Certainly, philosophers discuss the phenomena of religious awe, feelings of mystery, and the importance of sacred objects, but that is very different from having feelings of awe and mystery around such objects within philosophy.

~ Many religions teach adherents to revere sacred scriptures, but no one teaches students of philosophies to revere the collected notes of William James.

~ Most religions tend to include some sort of belief in what can only be described as the “miraculous” — events which either defy normal explanation or which are, in principal, outside the boundaries of what should occur in our universe.

~ Miracles may not play a very large role in every religion, but they are a common feature which you don’t find in philosophy.

~ The fact that religion and philosophy are distinct does not mean that they are entirely separate. Because they both address many of the same issues, it isn’t uncommon for a person to be engaged in both religion and philosophy simultaneously.
The reference to this activity and the choice of the term should reveal quite a lot about an individual perspective on life.

Matters related to ''Life'' are always very complicated......they can not and must not be seen in the broad term.
Philosophies....by Philosopher's... try to simplify these complicated issues and affairs...
