Why not tell about some of the apples that are native to China and are not likely to be found in the outside world?

According to the information provided by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Bohai Gulf area produces the apple around 10 millions tons in a year.
It accounts 40% above of the total production for all apples in China.
And the apple production from Shandong Peninsular is around 6 millions tons, two times of Laodao Peninsular’s production. While Dalian produces the best quality of Chinese apple which is more balance in the sweet and sour taste and juicy enough, plus the flowerly fragrance & flavour.
Dalian thus deserves the name of “village of apple”. There are 120 kinds of apples
which can be found in China.
As Shandong is located in the north latitude of 37 degrees and Laodao is situated in the north latitude of 41 degrees, both enjoy the same climate conditions which provide adequate rainfalls and sunshine in the Bohai Gulf. Dialian, however, is a bit close to the north and the apple is more delicious and sweet enough as explained by the expertise from the Shandong Academy of fruit tree.
In fact, the sugar level of an apple is greatly related to the time of harvest, the longer the time for the apple trees with the big contrast of day time temperatures, the more accumulation of sugar. These factors assure the good quality of apple.
Opposite to the Dialian , Yantai facing the Bohai Gulf has been producing the biggest quantity of apples in Shandong province. Geographically speaking, Yantai has an average rainfall between 800 to 900 centimeters annually under the Pacific Ocean’s
influence. And the numerous hills areas are evenly receiving the rainfalls and cause no
over- flooding problem which helps the apple growing and getting very few virus against the apple productions.
Historically, Yantai has been growing the apple since Ming Dynasty and the ever improving of cultivation methods and new introductions of seeds like Fuji apple
now leading the apple production of Yantai so famous for its sweet and crisp quality.
If you look at the apple family from China, you can find red apple, green apple, red-star apple, Gala apple, cherry apple and brands like Huaniu apple, Qinguan apple
and so on.
Why not take an apple everyday and see if the doctor will leave us?

Research Updates
Apples and Weight Loss:
Weight Loss: Researchers from the State University of Rio de Janeiro studying the impact of fruit intake on weight loss found that overweight women who ate just 300 grams of apples or pears – that's the equivalent of three small fruits a day – lost more weight on a low-calorie diet than women who didn't add fruit to their diet. In addition, the fruit eaters ate fewer calories overall, boosting their weight loss efforts. Researchers suggested several theories as to why apple and pear consumption may promote weight loss. First, fruits like apples and pears are "low energy-density" foods – that is, they have a relatively low calorie count compared to other non-fruit foods. Second, research has shown that eating a high-fiber diet (calorie intake being equal) promotes postmeal "satiety", leaving subjects feeling fuller for longer. And finally, research has also established that eating a high-fiber diet decreases total calorie intake, thus contributing to weight loss. (Source: Nutrition 19: 253-256, 2003)

Replying to [Leosun]: apple in Xian
http://www.mindfully.org/Farm/2003/China-Export-Apple4apr03.htm
XIAN, China — This is where much of America's apple juice now comes from — the outskirts of historic Xian, where the orchards stretch for miles and miles. Apples are so plentiful here that they are often left to rot in the fields. They are scattered on the ground in old farming villages and pitched against walls by playful little boys like red and gold baseballs.
There are so many apples in China — which over the last two decades turned itself into the world's biggest apple grower — that the world price for apple juice concentrate has been depressed for nearly five years. Apple juice makers in the United States purchase more of China's cheap concentrate every year — though they do not like to talk about it — and every year American apple growers complain of devastating losses.
But do not expect growers in Xian, or any other part of China, to abandon their apple orchards.
"Yeah, prices are low, but I'm sticking with my apples," says Wang Aimin, a 40-year-old grower in Lining, a village about 40 miles northwest of Xian. "Life is better now. I used to grow corn and wheat, but you couldn't live on that."
These are the economics of modern agriculture in China — and the market psychology of the modern Chinese farmer. Even a deeply depressed market is preferable to what farmers suffered through for decades, when they could not expect to make even $1 a day selling crops to local markets.
After China opened its agriculture to the broader export market in the 1980's, farmers here started growing apples, backed by government largess. These days, China produces 1.5 billion bushels of apples a year — about half the world's supply, and nearly seven times the American production of about 215 million bushels a year.

Dear Coco,
You are right. These two places also produce the very good quality apples too.
The best is, we eat an apple everyday and keep the doctor away from us for ever, if possible..
And let drink some natural heaven TEA too.
Sure we can be more healthy and long life if we remember how to eat healthily:
1)Less sugar
2)Less Oil
3)Less salt
4)More exercises, even we keep walking for 15 to 30 minutes everyday.
These are the keys how to keep us young and beautiful or handsome as well.
