Manufacturer VS retailer
Post 1 of 3
If a manufacturer want to expand their marketing channel by doing retailing themselves through internet( sell directly to customer), do you think it's fair to their existing distributors/agents? How should they do the price strategy?[em24]

Replying to [Winter Sonata]: Sure it is, and many well known manufacturers of products do this. However, most of them sell at market price otherwise known as MSRP manufacturers suggested retail price. No manufacturer wants to be in direct competition of their supply line distribution. This is also why when you go to sites that are licensed re-sellers of products you will never see a wholesale price or a price below MSRP without being an associate member of that site.

Replying to [Ranger]: Thanks for your advise. So is it means that if manufacturer sell at the highest market price like their distributor, so will be fair for both parties, right?

Beside is it should be better for manufacture to put MSRP price or the highest market price?
