How to get export order

My company has been Alibaba trustpass member for almost 6 months. Since day 1, we have tried hard to get export order but still no gain up to now. Please help us by giving some tips to attrack buyers.

Alibaba is just a "tool" to bridge the gap between the buyer and the seller. There's no gurantee you will get loads of orders once you are paid member to Alibaba. Alibaba never promises you a confirm order. It only promises loads of inquiries. It is your job to convert these inquiries into the successful deals. I'm sure you must be getting lots of potential inquiries. And if you're not then post as many sales leads you can as possible and i'm sure you'll get lots of it.
Now ... about generating sales orders... well the first and most important thing is does your company have a serious mentality to create a brand for itself in the world market or just exporting to reduce the excess of inventory..??
Next is your price. Are you prices at par with the competitors..?? Calculate the prices again and make it the most compititive.
Next is relationship... develop relationships with the potential buyers. Communicate with them on regular basis. Remember - Out of Sight is Always Out of Mind. Make sure you're always in their mind as a good choice after their prefered suppliers. The day will come when they'll initiate a trial business with you and that's the day for you.
Search the importers for your kind of products and communicate with them through emails and personal calling.

Replying to [letsgo]: It is a million dollar question. Every exporter is in search of this answer. Hard to give straight answer as there is no straight answer to this. There is no fixed formula to get export orders. One can only suggest ways as per his/her experiences. Base on others experiences and your capacity, find out the best way which will suit you the best.
Simply putting your details on alibaba.com may take some time to get noticed by others. You keep hitting "buy" alerts on this website as well as other b2b sites. Collect the buyers list from these sites. Start communicating with them and explain your product's details. Find out what their requirements are and try to fulfill them.You may also approach buying agents in your city or country. They might help you in getting orders. Meet them personally with your samples. All these may take some time but you will have to have some patience. Never loose heart. Success demands determination, patience and ability to cope up difficulties, failures.

I think honesty hard work and knowledge make a successful business person, in the field of export /Import; you need to become trust worthy and need trust worthy parties.
The only major target is to get on order, then you can use your reference for the new buyers, same if you are a buyers , you can use this reference to buy from the new suppliers, and if you are a supplier you can get orders by using your buyers reference .
Then it comes honesty and the delivery in time, if you make happy your buyers they will certainly refer new buyer to you.
