Hello everyone.

I would like to know the process involved in obtaining goods which i know conform to specific standards. For example, if i wanted to purchase a large shipment of Safety Goggles from China or Taiwan, how would i ensure that the manufactuer produced goods which adhered to the necessary standards. Such as AS-1337 in Australia for example. I have requested standards before and the manufacturer has assured me of this but i never received any written proof, i do not know which documents i need and surely i cannot just take their word for it? Any help or advice surrounding this whole process would be gratefully received as well as a way of knowing which standards are needed in specific product areas for the respective countries.

Many Thanks

CKent

you have to receive a sample from your supplier, then your following batach must consistent with your sample hypothesis is your sample is your satisfied stuffs.next stage is your should sign a contract with your supplier which could indicate your expected quality if you can't conform to your standard you should claim for reimbursement or refund your money.

Replying to [ckent]:If you need some certificate, then you require from your supplier, they will get this from some branch, and the branch will give them the certificate after inspecting the samples if their products meet your requirement.[em1]

Replying to [ckent]: As with any situation, communication and understanding on both sides are key to a win/win relationship. The more information you provide to a potential or current supplier such as industry standards, prints, specifications, samples, etc will go a long way in getting products that meet your expectations. Even the best suppliers can inadvertantly fail to perform as they might have perceived a dimension on a sample to be less critical than you. The best thing you can do is to research the supplier for information such as years in business, sales volumes, number of employees, product lines, etc. The more skin the supplier has in the game the less risk there potentially is to you. There is NEVER a guarantee but mitigating the risk is half the battle!

If you're well verse on the product standard, get it write down on your contract.
Appoint recognised surveyor emphasis the standard as per contract. Ask for preshipment inspection, loading and container sealing by surveyors.
When appointting surveyor take note losses clause by them.
