Kicha - Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is a concept when a company has a physical operation in another country. Most often FDI is for big companies because it requires huge investment that many SME's might not have. Additionally, the risk on FDI is huge because any changes in that country for example, government policy changes will directly impact the foregn company. As to what will happen to the SME's in that country well, they have to compete with the foreign company or unfortunately go out of business.
