how important is OBD system to CARS 'future ?
Post 1 of 2
Hallo ,welcome to share your ideas and comments.
Due to my new job ,I get access to OBD-related products ,which is totally isolated from me before ,coz I don't have a car ,not intend to own one. I am concerned much about the environment ,then I don't like cars much when I see there are so many cars running in the street ,emitting black waste air .But one day I start my new job which is related to cars ,I feel excited ----why? you may wonder. That's because I came to know about OBD (on-board diagnostics)system .I think that would be an effective way to solve the car emission problem to some extent . However,it still remains as a strange concept to me ,when will OBD become important to cars ,esp. in China?(coz America &European have taken the lead in OBD application)
Hope friends from all over the world , share your experience on this subject .

Replying to [ahoo]:OBD is very important and has been used in the U.S. market since 1980. It just keeps getting more advanced and complex. Most commercial trucks have multiple systems that the OBD systems work with. They are the engine, transmission ( automatic ) , anti lock brakes, and the electrical system. In 1996 a law was passed that all manufactures have to use an industry standard connector and used generic names for certain components. I could go on and on , but I hope that this gives you a better idea.
