I am a manufacturer and exporter. We exports human wigs and synthetic wig. As our international trade quotient more accretion, i have met a question.
1, some of our clients can not accept t/t by 100%
2, because of our many sample order (it's cost mini), per time remit money to us by bank, the bank deduct $20 per times.our profit became 0% or minimal.

You may do in this way. When you receive the Sample Order. You can make the samples without any payment. After you finished the samples, take the photos to yuor customer and show them the samples are on hand. In the same time, ask them for the 100% payment. Once you got it, you can deliver them.

I'm using this method to handle the very small amount of sample order. Sure, you may ask if customer doesn't pay, you will lose the payment. However, business is business, some small investment is a must!

If you make 20US$ profit with a mini cost sample order you should be happy !

I suggest, you may ask your buyers to pay this mini cost by WU, it is cheaper for all and of course quicker !

I did not know what you charge for a sample order but think the most will be for express shipping, so if you get money by Western Union, you can send it by Airmail and reduce the bill about the express rate !
The overall time will be the same compared with TT and all will save !

You need to add the cost of banking charges to the customer invoice. Other cost are transportation/freight if the quantity is small. So in essence , your costing will be as follows :

Cost of product :

Bank charges (miscellaneous)

Transportation

Sub total

Add margin

Total Charge to client.

You can offer volume discounts , or container load discounts etc. and this is the easiest way for your costing on small orders.

You are not on your own with the 100% T/T payment in full due to samples, this is very normal, we know any true customer will pay this fee.

As to your bank charges, this is why samples cost a little more, so please just make sure you cover your costs.

I dont feel making profits for samples is paramount, as you are trying to make a new business furture with you and the client. [em17]

1) ASK BCL of your client to see if he or she really has money to buy something.
2) For sample let them pay for shipping charges.
Afterall business has its risk lil bit risk we have to take & if you want 100% secure for sampling also use brinks which would cost you & precisely no good buyer would use for small qnty of sample but just if you are too curious to send sample out.
