It is not my habit to sit in front of the box and watch a show, I hate watching action shows with lots of violence, crimes, guns and bullets or the martial arts display. The only shows I watch more than any other are the news, Business reports, and reality shows such as the Apprentice.

Reality shows are boring to most young people, but they convey messages and lessons from which we can pick up and learn, so as not to be in the same situation and we do not have to make the mistakes where others had.

Doing your own business in China is a virtual climb to mount Everest on your first attempt. Our American friend was talking about his own experience in the United States, which has more relaxed laws and has an environment which encourages free enterprises. This is not for China, you have to go big, start from a base and then go into the market, with lots of capital and human resources.

Replying to [Street Smart]:Street Smart, I will admit that I don´t know the laws in China about business. I will say that China and Ecuador are both Socialist countries and do not have the same enviroment for free enterprize like the United states.

The reason for my reply is because your post shows that you assume that you know me and that my experiences are just in the United States. If you notice the country under my avatar it states that I´m currently in Ecuador. The people that I was refering to are both in the U.S. and in Ecuador. My first and second businesses were in the United States, however I just reciently started my third business in Ecuador at the young age of 33. I will admit that in the U.S. I had it a little easier because of my A+ credit score, however in Ecuador what you had in the U.S. doesn´t apply here. You have to start over.

I was hoping to inspire Fei and others to follow their hearts and dreams. It seems to me most of the younger generations are now taught in school to pursue a job and not a business. As and American, a Capitalist, and dare I say a Republican I find this to be real sad.

I would like to end this post sharing with everyone the name of the man who is the greatist inspiration to me. This was a man who was poor and came from nothing and built up a huge business empire. I would certianly hope you and everyone else would know of him, since his greatest invention in more than likely involved in all of our businesses. His name is Malcom P. McLean

David

Replying to [Fei Wong]: Is this common in China that your boss has to allow you to quite your job? I am not trying to be a devil's advocate here, but I am not quite sure I understand how someone can't accept your resignation. You hand it to him and then you walk out the door, what is he going to do? Once I made up my mind to leave a company, the company would have to offer me something in return for my staying. Like a pay raise or better working conditions. [em28]

It happened to me once, I felt I am not happy working anymore with the company, I filed my leave of absence they did not aceept , so I AWOL . I put up my own company , until now I am here managing my own business.
My advice to you Fei, you must have an option, where you really go after you leave your company. Otherwise, you regret.
I hope you are a survivor like me. I dont have regret what I have done, I take it as a lesson for every failure. No retreat , no surrender thats my motto in life.
