If the seller is not responding what it means?
Post 1 of 4
We are importer of Glass sheets. We generally work on the payment terms 100% Irrevocable L/C at Sight. Before open theL/C.Exporter showing much interested in our every mails. But after when we open the L/C their interest become less day by day.Even we send three or four mails but they reply only one or two mail after one week or 10 days. Thease problem we are generally facing with the new cmpanies. I Think they dont know the ball is always on the buyer side once they will not send the B/L.

What is the reason behind thease all misunderstanding on the exporter side?

If the L/C is not opened, the trasaction is not finished, so seller are doing their best to make new business.

When the L/C opened, sellers think everything is finished. so the seller is not hurry. e-mail response is also delayed.

Replying to [Munnu]:dear munnu,
since you say you are a importer and you open 100% lcs but thesuppliers do not reply, there are a lots of reasons for the dealay may be communication problem, language problem, you may have put certian clause in your l;c which may not be accepted by your supplier, so what you should do is instead of wasting time you must make a visit once tothe country or your source of supply. identify the best suppliers from the alibaba network, note down their details send a mail that you are interested in visiting their factories , identify 2/3 best factories meet them face to face make a contract say first for three /six months see if the supply side is ok you are satisfied than continue or switch over to the next supplier,
