First thing to conseder is how much are you going to pay for the deal? (from 10k and up)
Second, How much profit are you going to make from the deal. (enought to cover the cost of visitting them)
Third, is this a long term business deal?
If you have forcast you profit from the deal more than the cost for visit them and it a long term business, my suggestion would be book a fly and give them a visit, advantage of doing that is to show them who you are, you are serious about business, and know for sure they are who the say they are.
Worst case is you just take a vaccation, and write that off on you company tax return. Not very much to loose.
