Dear, culture and way of living will effect your promotion. Before promotion organise you need to study peoples culture there. For example may accept explotiation of women others may not.

Replying to [chuyitian]:I think every culture deserves courtesy, respect, and attention but some countries expect for a person to bow down and kiss their feet. I have to agree with the person above on some things. In certain countries when a man finds they are dealing with a female, they tend to change the business relations to something more on the "personal" level.

We probably have heard major multinational that have made blunders simply because they did not make effort to understand the culture of the country or community they were operating and have lost billions of dollars plus ruined their reputations. This could be as simple as translation or pictures on packaging that is not accepted in that culture. If the promotion did not get through to the target audience or if the message is not understood as you intended because of culture or even if the message did not induce your buyer to take action can impact communications with your buyer and finally cost you sales.
