According to my understand, if this company belongs to the company from Hong Kong and normally H.K. office is dealing with the marketing directly, so they (in HK) gave you the number. There is no concern that it is illegal.
The thing is you check if the number is offically belong to the trading firm in China by checking the related province government office.

Thanks for your comments.
Here, there is more info.

The following paragrafh is what the sent me:

"WE ARE A HONG KONG COMPANY, OUR COMPANY REGISTERED CERTIFICATE NUMBER IN HONG KONG 34650267-000-06-07-8."
But all the information I got is from an address from Guangzhou China digits are 0086, apparently they have 2 factories there. This is the web-page
: www.ggit-international.com

Companies from Hong Kong can use the Their same registered certificate in China?

Thanks in advance
and Merry Christmas!

It's very easy for anybody to register a Hongkong based company worldwide. You do not have to pay the business tax if your business is not conducted in Hongkong, this is why there are some many Hongkong based companies in Zhujiang River Delta area at present (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, or Zhongshan etc). As a normal supplier and exporter in Mainland China, he must register with lot of government authorities in China and obtain enough official licenses if he is a qualified company in Mainland China. Say, a Business License and Export License is a must if he is a qualified supplier and exporter in Mainland China. You can deal with a Hongkong based trade company if your order is not too big, but when your order is very big, you'd better deal with a Mainland China-registered company in China. They may be some differences and their business scopes may be different. For example, when you're importing Halal beef from China, you may have to choose a Mainland China company as this product need special license from local government authorities. Take care!

This is not a HK Company register number !
Under the partial name "Gold Gain" there are listed 29 companies in HK but all have the original 7 digit HK CR number or when a Not HK resident company with an additional letter(F) in front !

You can check them using free the HK CR register with :
http://www.icris.cr.gov.hk/csci/

Replying to [gatonejo]:Hi! I can 100% tell you that the certificate cannot be shared for Hong Kong and China. You need to register
the Business registation separately. As the system from Hong Kong is completely different. Thus it cannot be mixed at all.
I think you better ask them directly what China licences they have
but not a registered number from Hong Kong if you buy directly from this factory.
Unless the factory may inform you that you will deal with their associated Hong Kong company which will export to you from H.K. Then this is another story.[em1]

Thank you very much for your reply

I made a due diligence by myself.
I typed GOLD GAIN INTERNATIONAL TRADING in the address you sent me (www.icris.cr.gov.hk/csci ; thank you very much for so valuable information) and this number came:

0904992 ; which has the seven numbers you mention. But I do not understand why they sent me this number :

34650207-000-06-07-8, claiming its Company registered number in Hong Kong; when they have the other number (0904992) which apparently belongs to GOLD GAIN INTERNATIONAL TRADING.

Then I asked their COMPANY REGISTERED NUMBER from P.R of China an this is what they sent to us:

-Our registerde company name in China is : Guangzhou Haiwei Trading Limited.
-Registered number in China is :4401030003731
-CEO name is : Xiangyan Lee

Why is a different name,? it could be a legal name (guangzhou haiwei trading limited) and the other one is the trading name (gold gain internatinal trading)???

Is there a place where i can check a Company Registered Number from P.R of China???

Do you think this number (4401030003731) match with Company registered Numbers in China?

I used the service of GLOBAL CIS/ ASIAN CIS CREDIT INFORMATION SERVICES www.asiancredit.com for due diligence.

Can you recomend another one or this one is the best options.

Their offices are in Guangzhou, China

Thanks in advance

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Some of the biggest Chinese scammers and/or shonk quality suppliers are properly registered.

So, even if the registration is real, what does it prove? And, what will you do when your supplier aks you to TT your money to a personal name HK Bank Account entirely different to the company name you are dealing with (as is not unusual for even the best of Chinese suppliers)?

Proper Due Diligence should focus on checking out the supplier with feet on the ground in China and particularly in checking the supplier's factory quality control systems as bad or inconsistent quality is the biggest problem you will encounter in buying direct from China ... a desk full of business registration paperwork will not protect you against the fundamental problem of bad and/or inconsistent quality endemic in Chinese factories.
