what are/or where can I find the Standards for small electronic products that are imported to Australia
Post 1 of 4
I plan to import some small appliances such as christmas decoration lights, inflatable figures with motors installed to give motions. I want to know what kind of Standards that I should comply with here in Australia. Thanks a lot!

I was able to find these on the Internet, but it seems C-Tick only applies for telecom/redio/broadcasting/internet products according to ACMA website.

Most electrical and electronic products marketed in Australia must comply with the appropriate C-tick EMC standard and be labelled with the C-tick logo and ACMA issued supplier registration number. Generally the simplest approach to assure initial compliance is by formal C-tick testing and issuance of a recognised test report.

In Australia, matters concerning product electrical safety are regulated by our various States and Territories. Start your research with ITACS here ...

Certification cost will be greatly reduced if your foreign supplier already has proper EMC and Electrical Safety Reports (and any Chinese supplier worth its salt will have those reports).
