the carton size is  20" x 36" x 24"

kindly give the CBM.

what is the capasity of a 20feet, & 40 feet conatiners respectively?

Lenght 36" x Width 20" x Height 24" = 0.92m x 0.51 m x0.61m = 0.286 MCB

20" container = 1,170 cu Ft = 33.131 CBM

40" container = 2,385 cu Ft = 67.535 CBM

May I know how you get the result?My way is:0.36M x0.2M x0.24M=0.017CBM.

Dear Jilian,

Please check again .Carton size is in feet and you use it as is in meters.

(lenght) x (height)x (depth) - so if one box is:
40cm x 40cm x 15cm =
0,40 x 0,40 x 0,15 = 0,024 CBM

... 20' container - app.28CBM
....40' container - app.64CBM
but also, depends about weight - amlost is same with weight for 20' and 40'.

LOAD ABILITY OF OCEAN CONTAINERS

20'ft container 26-28 CBM
40'ft container 56-58 CBM
40'ft HQ container 60-62 CBM

You can calculate the CBM online at following webpage

Ocean Freight
1 MT
(1000 kgs.) or 1 CBM
(35.3 cu. ft.)

The gross weight of each carton is 10.5 kgs. and its length-width-height is 1.5' x 1' x 1', which is 1.5 cu. ft. or 0.04248 CBM per carton.

The specified weight is per 1,000 kgs.
and measure is per cubic meter.

The consignment has
a weight of 6,982.5 kgs. (i.e., 10.5 kgs. x 665)
and a measure of 997.5 cu. ft. (i.e., 1.5 cu. ft. x 665) or 28.25 CBM (i.e., 0.04248 CBM x 665).

hope it's useful,

Answer for the question

first you have to convert Inches into Metre.
20" = 0.508M
36" = 0.9144M
24" = 0.6096M

CBM of your box = 0.508Mx0.9144Mx0.6096
= 0.283CBM

Capacity of 20' container

Length = 5.99(236")
Width = 2.34(92")
Height = 2.38(94")

Capacity = 33.36CBM

Two types of 40' containers
40' Normal
Length = 12.04M(474")
Width = 2.31M(91")
Height = 2.38M(94")

Capacity = 66.25CBM

40' High Cube

Length = 12.05M(474")
Width = 2.34M(92")
Height = 2.69M(106")

Capacity = 78.68CBM

Tatal Capacity of 300 cattoons = 300x0.283CBM
= 84.9CBM

You have to use three 20' containers or one 40' normal container and one 20' container for your shipment.
