we need your best suggestion, we have worked with a chineese supplier recently, we ordered some jackets from the supplier, we sent our original sample and all details for the production, following we got a counter sample, which we approved and expected the bulk order on basis of the counter sample, the company demanded payment upfront, and since we approved the sample, we agreed to pay the amount upfront.

So, when we received the shipment we realised there was something wrong, the fabric quality was not matching the sample approved, nor the quality of the accessories used, also the GSM weight we ordered was much less then the sample approved, we`ve got suspicious that the supplier had definetely done a trick to save fabric and reduce the GSM weight in order to make more profit. The shipment was totally a "chaos".

We contacted the supplier following and told him about the claims and the problem the delivery of the goods had, first he immediately denied all the claims, but later he agreed that quality of the garment was bad, we asked for our money back, but they refused to send money back, instead they told us they will make a new production, which we agreed for, we also agreed to send the defect goods back to china, and the supplier agreed also.

Now its almost 2 months ago, the supplier have suddenly disappeared and we have no idea where they are? they dont answer their phones or response to our e-mails, we feel we have been cheated and betrayed. Our money is lost as well. When we call the supplier he immediately dis-connect our phone line or act like as he cant hear us clearly.

The good thing is, before we received the shipment, the supplier made a written agreement, where he agreed if the goods was defect, he will agree to accept the return shipment, and we could demand for money back or new production, but that also seems that it was just a trick to collect the amount.

What shall we do now? How can we settle this matter?

Due to certain circumstances, I cant mention the name of the company here, as im sure that it will lead to a bad reputation to this company.

I hope their is someone honest and realible person outside, who can help us to settle this matter.

It is just a bad image and impression for all other Chineese supplier, after this incident we are afraid to work with any supplier from China, we simply have lost our trust and faith in working with chineese people.

Grigo.

[em1] I want to thank you more than I can say, you expressed our good manufacturer's aspiration from the bottom of our heart, TKS!

Though some bad eggs, most China suppliers are good & willing to do legal business with the world.
To ensure safe, I suggest buyers use L/C instead of T/T.[em10]

Replying to [Maria]:Do a background audit before put your order , Make a quality check when the goods was production , or do a quality inspection before you take payment. it is important to known the real circs to the buyer ! Any cursoriness will give chance to wicked supplier.

Replying to [Maria]: What a load of Tosh !! I have read the responses to your email. It beggars belief that companies like this continue to trade.
As buyers we should name and shame them - Tell it like it is and save other buyers the same problems - if we all did it maybe we would see some constructive results - Name them by saying xxxxxx comapny failed to delivery and acceptable quality product and have failed to respond to our recovery requests. NAME THEM. Alibaba should have a hall of shame list . Maria there is only one solution to your situation - use an agent on the ground who will inspect and review this - there is one such reply in your column but I know many , so if you want a list let me know as we use them for our source selection and supplier policing. Ther maybe something you can still do to recover ... contact me and I will give you some names and contact names.

Anyway anyone up for name and shame ? if so lets get in touch. buyers need protection as well.

Hi, Hoping you will get back to me about this...
I fully believe that there are good suppliers but finding them is very difficult. I join the long line of people who have lost some money to a Chinese supplier - did as many checks as I could, read all the forums and was determined it would not happen to me - but it has!. Still waiting for it to fully unfold but at the moment not getting answers to my emails so I feel I have lost my money for good.
I know this information comes at great time cost researching each company but would you direct me either to a reliable supplier or a reliable agent/contact in China who is able to offer the service.
Please contact me if you are able to help.

Dear Maria:

Your society should send agent in China to check companies you want to work with, even using chinese agent could be risky too, better use trustable person like one of your employee.

To avoid any problems, my society send me as agent here in China , we never face any problems this way.[em10]
