How to do business with Indian people?
Post 1 of 16
I had some experiences of doing business with Indians.I have some Indian friends in India. They can help me sometimes when I deal with some people in India. For the most time,Indians tend to disregard the contract already signed.Like for example,I sell candy machines---candy depositing line to a small company in Delhi. They had signed a formal contract with me in China. We agreed on every terms in the contract. After they returned to India, they soon changed their mind and never pay any money to our company for buying the machine. And by the terms,we can never send any machine to them.
They later asked for another machine packing machine----single twist packing machine for candy. We made P/I and they again never pay any money to us.So there was no deal for both sides for the candy machine.I also felt the skilfullness of business bargaining.I don't mean it's waste of time. But I really learned a lot from them.

Thanks for your opinion,Smir,Happy new year to you.I know that many Indians are doing business with China. We are also searching for good businesses with India. There is no doubt that businessman is always seeking profits. But there should be certain trust and sincerity between business partners. We found that it's difficult to trade with small Indian companies because we don't know when they really buy our products.Even when they settled everything with us,they still ask another person to discuss the prices with us.I sometimes felt angry with these companies.
Business has to be continued with India. You can not leave the Indian market for packaging machines.

Replying to [John Food Wang]:hi . i think this is a back to basics thing. get the deposit, make the machine, get the rest of the money and then deliver, thats the way it has to be or get all the money up front. just like you would in any shop.could you imagine going to harrods in london and asking for something on approval or credit they would give you short shrift and tell you where to go.

There may be some changes to our rules such as:if I meet a machinery businessman in India and we had a good discussion. After face to face contact with each other,we may have less restrictions to our clients. We can send machines after we receive a percentage of deposit and shall hold our B/L until the client pays the balance.

I have done some business with indian, but many of them tell to me they will buy our taller shoes in http://www.salienceshoes.com ,and will make the payment the next day, but to my disappointing, i could see them never.
I just don't know why they always say they will buy, but at last ...
I just want them tell to me the actuality.
