Pay TT to a private account A SCAM?
Post 1 of 15
I am buying samples from a vendor in china. If acceptable will buy in lots. Problem is the vendor asked very high price for the sample (about 10 times the price of the item sold in stores and my modification is minor), had no company credit card so I sent TT. Today got back it was rejected because it was a personal account not company. Contacted vendor and she said it was because it was little money and didnt want to pay taxes. She then said that no payment will be required for samples until I buy the lots and at that time she will give me the company **** to send payment to.
Never done business with them but reading the scams on this forum, this could be one, it sounds somewhere in between them? Do you think she just doesn't have a company account yet? Could this be a scam?

Replying to [evenduan]:Hi all, I'm a wholesaler from the Netherlands. We are all business people and i realy do understand you can not send every " so called" new customer some free sample's. If you would do that you can close down your business at a year proberly. On this very moment I'm changing my product line and will sell from now on Fullspectrum dayligt lighting and all kinds off ennergy saving products. I found differant kinds of solar products ( street - lawn lights, chargers, backpacks, mobilepones, etc ) I have intrests in from one china company. After i received the price/product lists from some of the solar products and after some chats we agree i would order some samples and pay for them. one of the backpacks on the pricelist where offerd at12,67 USD each model. Today i received a email with the invoice enclosed. But now the sales girl rise up the sample price to 28USD each model.Now...I'm a resonble person. I even dont ask for a free sample because i dont aspect to receive free products before I'm a good customer. But why do they wana make so mutch proffit for more then 100% on a sample?? And then she ask me to send my paymend directly to her personal bank account in this email also.
I really dont know wat the think or do for now. Can i give the company a personal phonecall and ask for the director in person and ask him if tis is normall at his company??
Regards and a warm, tenderfull chrismass for everyone

I won't say if it's a scam or not... but 10x... that is insane.
I get that mfgrs are leary of sending samples because a lot of people are looking for freebies here... But at the same time, it is a poor way to treat a perspective customer.
If it were me (and yes, I've done this before). I would look elsewhere, (and let them know that) for my item(s). Tell them you will pay a single unit price + shipping, but 10x... no.
No extra commentary, no apologies, just no. If you must say something... it's simple, you will not commit to a product whose quality is in question until you see it in your hands.
They will change the number.
If not... ask for a couple of business references in your country.
Still no good... try someone else.

Replying to [virtural]:you do not state which country the vendor come from. But what I found is just different from us. in China, a private account to need to pay taxes(but in your story she said needed and she don't want to pay). a company account would need to pay taxes.
so, it is exactly different from what she said. I use to pay from my private account, but every transaction goes smoothly.
