I am buying samples from a vendor in china. If acceptable will buy in lots. Problem is the vendor asked very high price for the sample (about 10 times the price of the item sold in stores and my modification is minor), had no company credit card so I sent TT. Today got back it was rejected because it was a personal account not company. Contacted vendor and she said it was because it was little money and didnt want to pay taxes. She then said that no payment will be required for samples until I buy the lots and at that time she will give me the company **** to send payment to.
Never done business with them but reading the scams on this forum, this could be one, it sounds somewhere in between them? Do you think she just doesn't have a company account yet? Could this be a scam?

It is normal to request sample charge. Sometimes we do sample free of charge but freight to be collected. If you really worry about that, may ask some one help you to check the supplier. You may ask for my help. See my website.

I think it's normal way for us manufacturer to charge the buyer of the samples . If the money is small , so the buyer will pay the freight fee. As for the private account , it's also reasonable .

We also do business with regural customer ,and they pay by T/T or Westion Union or Moneygram. it's normal. even for big order, some customer would like to transfer money in these way, save time.

Replying to [virtural]: if a customer want to get the sample from us for the first business, I think it is normal to pay money on buyers' account. if a customer is old one, we will charge by differnet condition. if the product is not too expensive and too big, we will dilivery it for free. if the sample is very expensive, we will arrange it by half account each other.

Just like our company,one kind of is all kinds of chargers,which is cheap, so we always send the sample free to the customer.

And another kind is meter,(the cost price is high)so we always charge the sample ,and the sample price is higher than the normal price .Because the bank will deduct a lot of poundage.

i guess she is not a scammer, just take it easy,it is the way for chinese suppliers do business,but as you mentioned she charged you 10 times cost of the goods, a little higher..lol... but you can take it easy and no worry do business with her.Good luck.

Replying to [virtural]: I am sorry there are so many scamer out there. I have tried on numerous occasions to try and always wait get checks or money orders that a fake. I never send money to them until I make sure and have money in hand. But so far all were fake, waist my time. Everyone could make money if everyone was honest, so sad for the people who try to make money on others hard work. I see many beautiful things in China each year at Spring Festival with my Wife and Family there. I want to take home and show the world the things I see. My heart is so full and come back to America. I am sorry for you who have lost on scams, but I was told you have to move a lot of rock to find a little gold. And do not let it get you down, Instead of waiting for the storm to p *, learn to dance in the rain. The rewards wait for them that do.

You said yourself that the money sent by you to your seller was not much,so it is very normal that your seller give you his/her personal accont number instead of company's account to save the tax.

Go ahead,this seller is not a scammer...
