As Ms Davindo states the bank should be sure, but get from me an additional warning if you negotiate about International Branded merchandise at cheap prices !
Everything offered from Indonesia that has not the origin in Indonesia, means imported or OEM Brands are at 99,999 % scam !

What you can buy there is wooden furniture, palm oil, charcoal, copra or other items "Made in Indonesia" !

Be careful and special if your seller comes from Medan !

Thanks for your replies. I am glad to hear that at least the Bank is genuine.

My other question is related to the actual Supplier now. You are right Wilhelm that they are offering OEM brand goods at a steal. My concern is that I searched on Alibaba, and there are abbout six different companies listed in Jakarta area offering the same products all at crazy prices. And then I noticed the Primary person's name appears on one company - and this was the name I was asked to WU money to. Is it pure coincidence? Was ist los?

Anyway - I will tread carefully moving forward.

Thanks for your help.

Because you can register as much companies as you want on Alibaba, it is not a wonder when this scammers use the chance to spread offers !

As I said in my first reply, all Brands and OEM from Indonesian "suppliers" that are too good to be true are 103% scam and the offers at market prices but special payments, like 50% in advance and 50% after delivery, or similar are 100% scam !
I have heard from a "supplier" who offers delivery by only getting the freight costs and the rest after delivery. Of course 50 or 100 US$ is a lot for them only sending an invoice, cash the freight cost and than hide !

It is so easy, if Alibaba close one account they open a new one !

Danke Wilhelm. I have read a numbe of your notes, and that is actually what made me put the brakes on the transaction. I will see what these guys end up doing.

The interesting thing is that I asked for photographes of the actual items and they sent a couple of actual pictures. However, with the swarm of too family companies on Alibaba - I am still cautious.

I do want to say that I have been in contact with a number of legitimate businesses on Alibaba - so not all members are crooks.

Even if the bank is real and exists, must check and verify the company first. Bank documentation can easily be faked.

Wow!! seems that you have the most experiences in Indonesian scams.
have you ever been cheated that way. i mean how do you tell that 103% scam percentage for real. or you just exaggerating the point.
there is another possibility, a broker or whole selling agent for OEM products which non originally from Indonesia
you know what, i can get branded computer part made in abroad with very cheap price. even cheaper than market price.

as the payment terms you have mentioned 50-50. let me tell you, there are several condition that makes the term came up. and that's between the buyer and the seller who knows it. unfortunately it is the way of scam.
once people claim a fraud with this modus then you generalized everything.
i did the term 50-50 but only for the 2nd and on deals. the first one is COD, prepaid freight on me and extra quantity for free. Is this a stupid act? no!! this is business. real challenge.

black is black. i admitted the multiple companies as one person name is truly a scammer. but you have no rights to spread one bad thing as the description of one country. that's provocation. and you are provocateur.

this forum meant to verify a company not a country. or you just too SMART to notice an ethic code. speak only within the context of question. you have scared our future customers.

one more thing. scammers is everywhere, even there must be one or two in each country including yours.
I will gladly saying that the whole universe is scammers.

and for this thread poster, Mickey, are you kidding me?? there will be no scammers who give fake bank, the seller is the one who fake, not the bank. lol.

sorry wilhelm, but i have to take this as personal. [em20]

I had to respond to your comments on here. Firstly, it is unfair to assume that Wilhelm is generalizing about Indonesian businesses. Admittedly, there are scammers in every part of the country, his point is that there has been a higher occurence of scams on OEM brands items from Indonesia in comparison to other occurences.

The same can be said of doing trade with some African regions. That said, he did qualify his statements with the fact of Indonesia's most popular exports, and the fact that he has spent many years there. His watch word - and you take it for what you want - is that one should be cautious and do as much due deligence as possible.

Ironically, even a member from your part of the world has not only volunteered to help others verify companies, but also alluded to how scammers can fake bank details. I think it is naive of you to assume that a person or individuals cannot fake bank details in international trade. Contrary to what you might think, opening up a banking institution in many developing or third world countries is not as regulated as you might think. Not to speak bad about any developing nation out there, it is just a matter of existing infra-structure.

I am sure no one on here is out to insult anyone's country or region. What we should all be doing collectively is trying to remove or get such scammers removed from sites like this as it spoils / ruins opportunities that we would all otherwise capitalize.

A better reponse from you would be a call to action to eradicate your country of such people - like others have volunteered.

Mikey.

Mr.BUM,

If you take the "TROCHIDAE Tectus fenestratus" out of your ears and delete the "CYPRAEIDAE Cypraea" from your eyes and read and understand my postings and replies you would not write here this kind of statement !

If you see my postings as personal insulting to you, I may ask where I have wrote something about you or your business or a related business !

If you had a little understanding you should know that all my replies relates to obvious cheat offerings !
Show me one case where I am not right with my findings and allegations !!!!

Show me one "original" International Brand OEM Item sold in Indonesia cheaper than elsewhere, worth to Import to other countries when you pay shipping to and duties and Tax in your homecountry !
What you can buy cheap, is Brand OEM made in China but fake !!!

Your business practise with first COD and than 50/50 you can not compare with scammers, who never offer a first COD and did not deliver when they got the first 50% ! It's a difference !!!

To anser your last sentence, you know that most Indonesian Banks have agents everywhere, often listed as branch, many of these kind of ""Bank Agents"" do not do Bank business in a real way, they accept payments to fictive accounts and cash the money out to scammers and get their profit from it ! At least some of the "big" scammers in Indonesia are high reputable people acting in the background, with I think, for you unbelievable possibilities and connections !

So before you feel insulted in statements about Trading with your country, put the good ones together and do something, to change the way !
