I totally agree with you chap. But there is something called the society, families and others who think different at times, even if one is satisfied, one must at times even do more.

What you think?

after half a year work career, i get some views which i think it very important for me:
1. if you want to be successful, confidence is very important, it can give you courage to do any thing you want
2. if you want to be successful, interest is much necessary, it can make you go to the top by shortway.
3. if you want to be successful, you have to win yourself, fight against your shortage.
i am tired of my job now, i want to change myself to become my own body and mind,
everyone who wants to succeed, he gets to fly, fly to where he wants without any hasitation.

Replying to [Firo]:to different people, success has different meaning.
as to me, live a happy life with my parents and lover, have much friends, keeping in touch with them frequency.
not too much money but can traval all over the world, enjoy a free job, have a super ability working and living.
it's enough.
it's my dream at present. maybe as years by, it will change, to what, I even cann't unparticipate, but only a principle in front is taht, we should work hard and do our best.
never hesitate to do what we want to do in young age, also don't regret in the old age. it's a successful life.

You are correct in saying that Success is merely a word. And has different functions in accordance with the different mindset of people.

To a Scientist success is to invent something that will move the world.
To a Soldier, to win a battle to go back to his family home safe.
To a thief, is to steal and not get caught.
To a Drugdealer, be the one central point that controls everything.
etc.

As you can see its not only about money, for each type of person success means something else.

But my Father and my Grandfather told me once, the true success is achieved, when one is totally independent of the society and money, and can do whatever they like to do without fear.

Here is a little line cited by my Grandfather:
"The only reason I sleep well, and can walk with a broad chest on the street, even if I don´t have a penny in my pocket is, that I am proud to be who I am, and the reputation of helping others always succeeds you, no matter where you go, respect is what I get. The true wealth in this world is respect, not money. Money today is mine, tomorrow someone elses, and so on. But the respect I have earned only belongs to me, and I get paid by it everyday."

Please dear members, quote your life experiences about the truth of success, and your ideas.

Replying to [Firo]:Hello, firstly I want to tell you that your text is very good and I have seen myself reflected in each word you wrote. After 4 years trying to trade sugar I have come to my end. I have lost someone I loved, I disappointed my family, so called friends are now away from me, all of this because I had the fire burning in the heart to show the world that I am different.Instead, all my dreams collapse with no mercy at all. Life is hard and reality even harder. I am a 33 year old guy. I have tried my best at least I feel I have tried my best. It seems to me that my best was not enough . Four years without making a single dimme. How did I manage to keep going that far ? I really do not know. Even my father told me so many times I was on the wrong track. He has never believed me. Where did I go wrong ? What should I have done and I didn´t do ? It´s over now and I am facing the final curtains. Now I have to be ever harder to start everything over again. After four years trying, working at least 12 hours a day, every single day from Sunday to Sunday. My view of success ? I really don´t know anymore. This text you wrote helped me a lot. Facing FAILURE is terrible. It´s heavy. Hurts. Thanks for listening to me. Let´s keep in touch ? intercomalencar2@yahoo.com.br

Hello there,

Firstly, thanks for sharing your story, and I can totally relate to that. Its not that you have gone wrong, or that you haven´t tried hard enough. But how you did it is the questions. Its always that what you see others might not see, and usually unless you have done something good nobody taps on your shoulders.

Even i lost someone very dear to me, through that lose I realized what must be done. If I look back now, I must say I was a dreamer, and really didn´t do things right, but thats always like that afterwards everyone is smarter.

My father always asked me "Whats the difference between a Businessman and a Working man?" I never knew the right answer until I worked myself, that with the age of 17. The difference is that the businessman or richman, works with brains and not only with hard work, he combines that and that is why he is able to do more.In a way has to work even harder mentaly as well as physically.

Currently in a way even i would say that I am struggling, trying to get somewhere, but the target is going farther and farther away each time I come a step closer, but isn´t that what drives us beyond the limits. Meanwhile I don´t feel that its real struggle, if I look around I see people who are in a more worse situation then me, so i am still happy that I am still doing comparitavley good.

And here comes another thing I never understood till now, I quote my father "Never compare, since you do not know how the other side feels and they do not know your side, and when you do compare you only assume wrong, and start doing the wrong in your own life because of that assumption"

So forget what people say, and forget what people do. Do what you must do, since only you know where you want to go, but learn from others mistake and only take the good things to achieve your goal.

The greatest thing that one can achieve is to solve his problems alone without hurting or taking someones help, but should be able to give happiness and help to others no matter what he is going through.

And a smile on the face, is the best way to do that, no matter how you feel.

Thats what I do, I laugh about my problems, and I find a solution faster and easier, and also I give the impression to be happy when i am not, in good times as well as in bad times, people smile back seeing me smile, and enemies show respect seeing me smile.

So just smile, and laugh at yourself, only the man who can smile about himself, can make others smile and gain comfort through himself and not through others.

I would like to say to you Mr. Marcelo Alencar, that you are on the right path, since you understood what you did wrong, and also on right time, some people never realize what went wrong, some realize it to late when they are too old and cannot do anything to change it. But you have a chance, you still have energy in you so keep on going my friend, be happy you have a second chance, it may take some time to redeem yourself, but if you look deep inside, I am sure you will find a solution.

Good luck to you
