You're right Indonesia is a paradise for scammers.. It's so easy for people to change identity. I've come across several otherwise very friendly and smart-talking people, but always in the end proven to be good-for-nothing and only out to get easy money.

I also agree there's a reason why God let you be born and raised in Indonesia. One of which must be to post something about this here in Alibaba. Anyway being honest about something is always a good start. I hope someday you'd find real business partners. [em18]

I have dealings with Indonesian companies, and like a second home to me, the Indonesian people is a mix of different cultures, ethnics and religions.

Not all of the people are as to what you described, but the majority live below the poverty limit, and the gap between the well-to-do and the down-and-out is so wide, that you can drive an A380 Super jumbo through it. There are some honest and genuine business-minded Indonesians who are trust-worthy, these are the drivers of the national economy.

However, the root problem of Indonesia is the from the top, the officers in the Government. The top strata people get too little salary and they have to depend on sidekicks. People on-the-take are found in every branch of the system, from the Customs to the man on the street.

A fellow Malaysian customer told me about Malaysia, which is more prevailing in the Southern Archipelago states, most middle managers hold two jobs or interests at the same time. Meaning they run their own sideline business while working for a main company. This is also true in Indonesia, where the managers in the Departments run his private business outside, and give all the contracts to this firm. This has been a norm, and the others see as no offense about doing it.

Replying to [rienimayasari]:It's interesting to read your article.I had been to Jakarta on this Aug.I felt the city is good but water pollution is very serious.I visited a new residential area near the airport.Every small river is black and seriously polluted.Somewhere in this area the air is not good.I can't imagine such a new good residential area had bad surroundings. It's good for a place to be industrialised but Jarkarta has to be cleaned.
I also see interesting things on the street when I pass a railway line.I saw some people standing near the door of the train and there is no door for the train. And I also saw in a small railway station many people standing on the platform and some even stand on the rails below.I think your country is a beautiful country but it needs to be well managed. To make every city beautiful and nice to live.
I heard that many Chinese living in Indonesia have very good life.I am very happy.Chinese were there since a century ago.I love Indonesia and I wish you have a good life there.
