As this forum seems to be the first forum new members appear in I want to bring to all members attention to that of the 50-50 scam.

Every year as the coming holidays of December draw near scammers jump out of the wood work offering goods at ridiculous low prices and the 50/50 at normal prices.

Simply put the 50/50 scam is, you send 50% of the total price plus the shipping and then pay the remaining 50% after you have recieved the products. However, what you recieve is nothing after sending payment and the seller breaks off all communication with you.

The problem lay in that business is not conducted in this manner except in more complicated terms of payment where the seller is assured they will get their payment.

The only way they can get your money thru these types of scams are T/T payments and Western Union Payments. The payments are to individuals and not the corporations claiming to be selling the products.

Also, not usually a part of the 50/50 scam but a scam at any rate is the one in which the seller asks you to remit money to a 3rd party shipping company or sending money to a bogus escrow company.

There are only a handful of real escrow companies. The most well known being www.escrow.com No shipping companies or freight forwarders are involved in this kind of payment. Also do not click on links that redirect you to any such kind of payment or shipping services. These links can re-direct you to mirror sites of real forwarding companies without your knowledge and may continually send your computer small packet of spyware and or malicious code without your knowledge. This is the time of year to keep your firewall filters at the highest levels not only for your computer but your email filters as well.

Replying to [doctor_rony]: If you sent money to that company I would say without a doubt its gone. Actually, I cant see why anyone would think that a storefront is a real shipping company that has escrow service. Strange to say the least:

1. .tc a domain fo a little island in the Carribean
2. That has a fake address in Greece and
3. That Greece address has a phone number in Tacoma, Wa

Where did you send your money? Turks & Caicos Islands in the Carribean, Greece, or Tacoma, WA. Actually the whole site is as fake as they come.

Replying to [Ranger]: I think, the customer should not pay more than 10% at time of order. Once the production is complete, the factory can send them a copy by email of the Bill of Lading and documents. Then, they can pay all 90% before the factory send the documents to them

Red, A T/T offers ABSOLUTELY NO protection in any way. All it is is a money transfer method. I have been asked more times than I care to remember why YOUR bank can't retireve the money if the supplier never sends product.... The simple answer is that you bank has NO authority to take money out of someone elses bank account. It is really that simple

You are much better off having an agent working on your behapf check out the company and also inspecting the product before payment is made.
