Crude Oil Prices: Reasonable or Ridiculous?
Post 12 of 45
Replying to [Admin]:oil prices are established through market mechanism, demand and supply.
And............ too many external factors, political, stability, exchange rate of the usd$ which is extreme low at this moment, etc. etc.
and the many problem areas in the world all influence the price of oil.
But the price of oil is not high !
You have to take into consideration that oil prices are paid for in usd$ and it is this currency which is at an all time low.
So calculate the oil price in for instance the euro then you find it is not so high.

I think increased oil prices is good news for all.
it means less polution, more emphasis on renewable an clean energy sources like wind, solar, etc. and more tendency to conserve energy.
oil should be used for the plastic industry only.

People, people, people!
Nice to read everyone's thoughts about oil prices, but none of you have yet realised the full implication.
As oil prices rise, then yes, petrol and other fuel prices go up.
But what about the far reaching effects?
For example, you should all know that PLASTIC is a bi-product of oil,.
Already today, plastic prices have gone up.
This means plastic bags go up (shops have to pay more, therefore YOU pay more for groceries and other commodities which are packed in plastic)
CARS have a lot of plastic parts, so do refrigerators, air conditioners, bicycles, lawn mowers, telephones, as a matter of fact, almost EVERYTHING you can see or think of, has plastic in it.
Guess what?
Oil up = Plastic up = EVERYTHING goes up in price.
That's only the start.
Shipping companies use fuel to drive their ships.
FREIGHT goes up, making ALL goods more expensive at the destination, therefore even more price increases.

So, look around you whether you're in the office or at home.
Can you see anything that does NOT have plastic in it?
Hope you all have a happy and nice day.

Replying to [grigo]: [em1] Thank u for your penetrating analysis, Grigo. I can't agree with you more on this point. As we know, Grigo just sites an example for us to know that there are a lot of things necessary for our everyday life that consume "crude oil" directly or indirectly. As the "crude oil" price soars, so do a lot of life necessities, products, traffic, transportation, shipping, services, etc. We can say, almost every aspect of our life will be greatly affected.
On the other hand, I hope the escalating price of "crude oil" can also brings us some good influence. As we all know "energy" on the globe is not infinite. We hope the "ridiculously high" price of "energy" can reminds us of it all the time, thus everybody, can do your little bit in saving "energy'', equally important is that we do "save" our globe at the same time.
So at last i still want to emphasize two words: " energy" and "environment", and everybody, pls do a bit thinking of the two words.
Thank u all! Have a nice day!

Replying to [Admin]:The Price is ridiculous and at this rate our cost of living will shoot up with no value for money. We are already seeing this in real estate market in India which is skyrocketing for a short term or mid term period of time.Alternative fuels will come about very soon and only countries having extra disposable income will be bale to afford petrol for their countrymen. Many industries depending on crude will suffer for lack of financial planning.

Replying to [Admin]: It's very ridiculous for increasing the price of
crude oil. and it also influence our daily life. It seems that everything
have changed but our salary remains in the same level as it was.

How will it be in the near future ? let us wait and see

Replying to [Admin]:I think the oil price soaring maybe a good thing for our enviromental protection, because of energy shortage, human being maybe find other cheaper natural energy to take the place of oil, such as wind energy, solar energy, of water energy etc. all of these are not fresh to us, but they have not been scaled used right now, the increasingly asending oil price can promote these energy being used in more fields.
