Where can I look to find good agents in china?

Agents who can check the quality of products, have good knowledge of the product, and have good ratings, others have done business with and are satisfied.

Thank You.

There are certainly plenty of agents out there to choose from and a few have been recommended here.

In choosing an agent I recommend that you ensure that the agent has experience with your product. It sounds pretty fundamental but I think that it is something that often gets overlooked.

In China you will generally find that certain areas are known for the production of certain products. So if you find an agent working in that area then they will most likely have experience with the product that you are looking for.

It also makes no sense to have an agent from Beijing if your production is in Shenzhen. You really need to have an agent that is within four hours of the factories in which you are doing your business.

Once you have found the agent that you think could work for you then test them on their product knowledge. They don't need to an expert of course, but they should at least have a fundamental understanding of what you need them to do for you.

You can pay the agent small percentage money first , then pay the rest part after you receiving of the copy of B/L and some confirmations of the goods.
This is what I do for my customers, and usually the agent wants to build the long realation with you and they won't cheat you.
And choose the agent near your factory as make sure they will visit factory to control the quality regularly.
Good Luck!

1.Try to request the agent to provide some client reference and you should get some ideas what kind of person the agent are and how much you could trust on them at least .If they couldnot provide client reference , just stop any further actions here as that will waste your time indeed finally .

2.visit the the agent office in person and firstly request them to do some simple work for your side .You will know what kind of person you are dealing with in person and see their first performance before entering into a big contract with them

People sometimes do business by feeling ,not by contract . It is very important for you to understand what kind of person you are dealing with ,instead of complicated contract .

Reference only .

hi, firstly, i'd like to know what kind of products you are going to purchase? otherwise, how people know if they have good knowledge of the products or not even if they have????
secondly, from which province are you going to source?????
thirdly, not sure how big your business it is, if it's not so big, i mean if you think one person can handle, then i think you can also consider finding one right person(of course have to be 100% reliable) in the initial period, because i think it costs less than to find an agency,

for your reference, for furniture, clothing, lighting, hardware, electronics etc., Guangdong province is an idea place, so obviously, if you are going to purchase these, then you can try to find one in Guangdong province.
and if you think that i could be of any assistance to you, pls feel free to contact me,

hope this helps and good luck to you[em20][em10]

We have seen many replies here, and it is very true that the agent should know the product, in some cases you can give your requirements of the tests you want at the production.

China is a large country and to have one agent in that area where your supplier are can be better, but not always the fact that agent = quality checking, some agents would use another person or company to check the products, dealing with your order and communication to the suppliers is another service, the agent needs to understand the imports to that country and the certification needed.

If you have to contact them the plus would be they speak English well, or have someone there that can.

Word of mouth can be the best way to find someone to help your buiness but not always true, as i have used quality checkers that are shown on Alibaba yet we had a bad time, so is best to start small and see what they can do, truth is in their work.

Some agents would take % for their work and others one payment, 50/50 payment is best and pay the last payment upon the B/L payment.

If you need to work with a new supplier you can get the agent to check them for you and give you their report, if you can visit China and meet the agent is always best for any business, but some people don't do this, if you want to start long term business is better to start as you mean to go on.

Make sure they have the basics use of computer and mobile phone, some people do use internet shops, and the need to be able to contact them when needed is paramount.

You need to have the person to work woth you and help your company and not just draw money. [em17]
