Regarding tariffs, could somebody please explain to me the term “drawback”?

If you import goods, and pay Import Duties, and then, for some reason, you have to send the goods back, then you claim a "drawback" of the duties you paid, by submitting the Original documentation for when you imported the goods, and you can claim back the duties paid owing to you sending the goods back out of the country.

Dear Grigo,

That is a "Refund" not a Drawback....

Drawback word is used only on the various schemes on "Import Inputs on Exportable Items substitution" provided by the governments to boost exports..
