Hello there,

Well, since I am Indian myself, living abroad, I have to say the Indian way of doing business disturbs me quiet a lot at times.

Its more talk and less done, is what I feel. Specially to get things done takes a lot of time, although its already clear that the deal will take place, but when that is up to the Indians.

Further the other problem I have to say is the Indian bureaucracy, its utter nonsense, specially at the customs, in a way I understand them since they don´t get paid well, but its a mistake of the government, and in turn the custom officers give off their frustration at us, the traders.

Then of course the other problem in India is that as long as you maintain only a business relationship strict and to the point, it kind of works out, since "Hisab Hisab He"(Indian member know what I mean), basically means "Account is Account" goes to say that nothing is left in credits but paid off. But as soon as any hint of friendship arises, that's when things start to go wrong, not nessacerly true in all cases, but majority. Then it into favors and ends up being "Accounts for Favors".

Finally the last but not small problem, is that majority of Indian traders think of their well being first and not the customers, so obviously if the customers isn´t doing well then how can they, but the once who are caring for the customers, are all doing well, unfortunately not everyone is like that, I know its every where around the world the same, but the way Indians do it, ouch it hurts, specially the price pressing techniques of Indians are infamous, we are born bargainers, but forgot that value equals quality and well being of a stable system.

India has so much potential, huge, but due to the lack of discipline and government dilemmas, the whole system itself works to slow. Also the way of thinking has to be globalized and more well thought of the future, like example: "Yea, today you got the goods cheap, but for how long, will that go right. So, if I paid make sure that the supplier is happy, and the customers, the established chain holds on much longer and becomes stronger.", that kind of mentality will drive the whole nation forward.

All I have to say is to look over to China. India and China started at the same level of poverty levels over 50 years back, and now China has topped the world, so why hasn´t India??? I strongly believe that India has a higher potential, since we do not have that language barrier like the Chinese do. But we can take the good Ideas and Philosophies of Chinese and combine them with ours, to become the best that there is.

Hope one day it will happen, till then I will do my part in dealing with India as best as I can.

Peace out
