I receive a letter from who i don't know.[em6] the letter :
Dear Sir,
Good day to you,
My name is Thomas H. Allen I am an American soldier, serving in the military with the Third infantry Division in Iraq. I and my superior moved funds belonging to Saddam Hussein, the total is $25,000,000.00 (Twenty Five million US dollars) this money is being kept safe in a secured location. You can go to this web link to read about events that took place here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2988455.stm

Basically since we are working for the government we cannot keep these funds, we have decided to look for someone to help us keep this funds this is why I have contacted you, so you can keep it for us in your safe account or an offshore account.

We will divide the total funds in three ways, since we are three involved in this. You will take 30%, and 30% will be for me, and my superior will take 35%. 5% will be kept aside for expenses. This business is confidential, and it should not be discussed with anyone.

There is no risk involved whatsoever. If you are interested I will send you the full details, my job is to find a good partner that we can trust and that will assist us. Can I trust you? To ensure confidentiality, when you receive this letter, kindly reply me via e-mail signifying your interest including your confidential telephone/fax numbers for quick communication and also your contact details.

This business is risk free.

This is typical cheap Nigerian Scam, the scenario is changed, but the modus operandi is the same.

Other similar ones: Finance minister in Nigerian Shell Petroleum Oil company died suddenly of heart attack, leaving behind US$25,000,000 to his widow.

Next is the reason for contacting you, the widow cannot draw this money for fear of Government investigation over some accounting irregularities, she need to transfer this money to a foreign bank. Your name appear among the list of most trustworthy person. We must transfer the funds to a foreign bank.

Then the bait .... a 15% commission will be given to you for allowing the transfer of funds. All you need to do is to let us deposit US$1,000,000 first and the commission will be given immediately.

The plot .. a fake bank transfer slip, with bank chop and signatures of the foreign bank manager will be sent to you by DHL, Looks authentic, a clever forgery, it takes an observant person to identify the fake. Immediately she will ask you to direct 85% of the money (after deducting the 15%). Or she will ask you to open a **** in that country to enable the transfer of such big amount of money. Check it out, you do not need to open an account for money transfer. They (the secretary) will invite you to go there and make a deposit of US$10,000 for the new account, with co-signature.

Before you realise it, your money will be gone, and your time, travelling expenses and all the expectation for a small gain will be your lost.

Joyce
