One of my potential customers asked me to send samples to him,at first,he just said he interested in one of our products,i told him that we offer the samples free, but he should pay for the mailing, then he replied me with that he is not in the position to pay for it because they don't have the DHLaccount, and showed that he intereated in all our items, and asked me to send the samples to them as soon as possible.

What should i do ?

That is easy! If your product is expensive, ask the customer to pay both the sample and shipping fees. If the product is cheap to offer, ask the customer to pay the shipping fee only. Usually, serious customers will understand this!

Well, I just received free sample from Italian company who sent me 15 kg of ceramic tiles. I didn't pay for samples, I didn't pay for delivery. I urgently need these samples for a bid a big project. I have no time to open DHL accounts etc. But I appreciate what this guy from Italian company did. If we win this project, and I'm sure we shall, I'll be working with this supplier only.
Its up to you send free samples or not. Don't try to sell your product to every person you meet. Some times this person is just not your customer and you spend too much time with a wrong person.

Replying to [blue angel 2006]:I am agree with the above. He must be a samples hunter, as I have this kind of experience. After I said something about the mailling charges, he did not reply my email any more.
But unfortunately, I had mail more than 30 samples to a wholesaler 20 days ago, even the charge is on his side, after I send the letter to him, he said that he is asking someone to check our items' quality, and then did not reply any more, what can i do??Pls help me.[em9]

Replying to [blue angel 2006]: Always customers show their sincerity to do business with you by doing freight collect. I speculate that why a company engaging in international trade do not have a DHL A/C. Try to investigate the background of this company. Personal opinion.

Replying to [Sanni]: Culture difference!!! Please be noted that if we put a TUBE in the envelop, it is not a envelop anymore. it is a package. I do think you can clear the custom by claiming that this is a piece of paper, unless the guys in custom are fools. The freight cost by DHL is that expensive, the FedEx is more expensive.
Sure a tube of the sample worths USD0.054, it is a piece of cake for you.Surely you can pay it, no problem. However, i would like to ask: if the sample worth hundreds of dollars, do you still pay the sample and the freight cost? Who knows? Only facts speak louder than words.
