quick determination of whether a cell phone is real or fake
Post 1 of 7
There are a lot of website and people saying that they can get cell phones at ridiculously low price. And everyday people have been scammed big times reciving faked cell phones.

However there's a quick way to determine whether a cell phone is real or faked.

You can learn by examining it's brandwith frequencies. Ah let me explain it in a little more detail. It's very easy and you can pick it up in a second.

First of it I want to explain as to what I meant by "brandwith frequencies". There are two types of cell phones, GSM and CDMA.

A GSM cell phones is the type of phones that you put a SIM card into it. CDMA phones are phones that don't use SIM card.

For a GSM cell phone, you communicate with other cell phones using wireless frequencies. Every country has laws that governs as to what frequencies is allowed for a particular equipment. For GSM cell phones, there are four frequencies GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900.

A dual band cell phones supports only GSM 900 / 1800. A triband cell phones supports GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 and a quard band cell phones supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900.

Ah nowadays the technology for faked cell phones only allow dual bands. So for example if a seller tells you that he can sells you a dual band Nokia N95, you know it's for sure faked. Because Nokia N95 is a quardband phone.

Nowadays no big brand cell phone companies make any more dual band GSM cell phones. If a seller tells you that they are selling dual band cell phones, they are for sure faked.

You may ask me how to tell whether it's a dual band, tirband or quardband cell phones, very simple:

You go to phone network option of the cell phones, and then go to frequencies, you will see how many frequencies the phone support.

If it supports four frequencies, then it's a quard band. If it only supports two frequencies, then it's dual band. Very simple.

Hopefully no more people will be tricked into purchasing any faked dual band Nokia N95 cell phones anymore. Haha. Nokia never manufactured dual band Nokia N95. Nokia N95 is a quard band phone. http://www.nokiausa.com/A4513448

Also don't you dare to pay anyone T/T or using western union up front unless he or she is your relative or long time friend. I guarantee you WILL NEVER see your money again and you will NEVER receive what you ordered. No legitimate company requires payment up front unless it's a very very very small company with insufficient capital or is a scammer.

Hopefully it helps.

Replying to [santahw050]:

That might apply to Nokia.

However, there are many genuine brand name phones with only dual band ... mainly 900/1800 ... which is all that's needed in many countries.

Hi,
1/Same question than memberone : what should I do if I want to order samples without using T/T.
2/if I'm 100% sure to loose my money by using T/T, why do all goldsuppliers only propose T/T ?
Thanks for your answers,
