Hi
I am personally doing the distribution of my book, which was published in Beijing by foreign languages press. My book is now on Amazon, which means that whenever Amazon orders more books from me, I have to get them there in 2 weeks. The problem is the cost to ship just 2 books costs 25 dollars, so I would actually be losing money that way.
My idea is to send a big box of the books to my mom and have her send the books to Amazon whenever Amazon requests. What is the cheapest way to send a big box of books to my mom in the US? Or if there is a better way to distribute to Amazon without bothering my mom, does anyone know? I am new to all this and my publisher doesn't know how to deal with Amazon. Thanks.

Replying to [Dayang]:search a small international courier, the price will be cheaper than UPS/FedEx/DHL, but need 5-7 working days to US.

The cheapest way to ship a box of books from China to US is through China Post Surface way(sea way). You will enjoy special price for printing books price. Usually it takes about two months to arrive.

If you choose China Post SAL way(sea+ air way), it's faster but more expensive than Surface way.

If you choose China Post Air way, it's more expensive than SAL way.
but will arrive US in 15 days.

So, it depends on your budget on time and money. But choosing China Post, you will always enjoy a special price on printing books delivery.

Try www.iesexpress.com. They are based in US and they have branches in China as well. They are licensed seller of DHL but offers drastically reduced rates. use their rate calculator from their website to find out.

Replying to [Dayang]: FWIW that site's rate calculator does not accept Chinese postal codes, and its "Quick Ship" option is not operational. Most of the links are inactive, in fact.

TNT's deferred service, Global Economy, seems to be by far the cheapest courier service available. They're not too great for domestic, but from Far East to North America they're typically 50% cheaper than companies such as Fedex.
