On October 28th, the CSSC Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Co, Ltd. and China shipping development Co.,Ltd, again signed construction contracts for four VLOCs with 230,000 tons in Guangzhou. At present, the Company has construction orders with a total of 4 million dwt, which is seven times the total amount of shipbuilding in Guangzhou.
The signing ceremony on the 28th is the first time for Longxue Shipbuilding Co. to hold a ship construction contract signing ceremony in Guangzhou. CSSC Nansha Longxue Shipbuilding Base began construction on September 25, 2004 and was expected to be completed by the end of 2009. According to the construction requirements of modern assembly shipbuilding, the Longxue Base covers an area of 2.53 million square meters, and will have two docks of 300,000-tons and 4 gantry cranes of 600 tons, and other large modern shipbuilding facilities. After the completion of the Longxue Base, CSSC Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Co, Ltd will become the largest ship construction enterprises in Southern China. The capacity of the shipbuilding will also increase substantially, with the annual shipbuilding capacity increasing from the current 600,000 tons to more than 300 million tons. Also, the size of the ships that can be built will be increased from the current 60,000 dwt to 300,000 dwt.
