It is not uncommon to see poeple trying to explain things in an unfamiliar language.This can happen if I try to do so in Italian or french.
What really happens is that we are thinking in a different language and then translate it with little vocabulary we have.
For example a simple "how do you do" becomes How it goes with you in german "wie geht es ihnen?".Try to translate same in other language and it will seem funny
