Post 1 of 27
My job is import foreign products to China and sell them. But it seems difficult to buy from foreign company! everytime i send mail to them who trade or manufacture the products we need, but no response. arenot they check mail in foreign company?

then i give call to tell them i wanna buy from them and hope that they can offer me some details, they promise mail to me but no response still. maybe they treat me as a scammer or others(busy,no-duty?).

what can i do for it? i think sometimes buy is harder than sale!

Replying to [mahao]:I think that's occasional not normal. There are so many manufacturer and trading company desired to do business with friends from all over the world. The most important thing for buyer is you must compare the business partener very carefully. You should find the kind person who care about the clients very much. It's not only "good time, good place but good person".

Replying to [mahao]:Sir, I have been contacted by people like you. What I think is happening is the customer requests a product catalogue or a price list which is not always available from suppliers. Certainly my company doesn't have a product catalogue for all our products which are too many to list out. Being in the Construction and mining business we cannot list all the parts we can supply for all the machines for which we are agents for. Try to be more specific regarding your requests and also try to get a contact name and perosnal e-mail. Hope this is of help to you.

Replying to [mahao]:It is really difficult to buy /sell your products online, when one side communication stopped, it is really very difficult to understand the meaning of silence. My Supplier was not giving reply for my mail, neither for Reminders, I talked him over phone, he said he is replying to all my emails but I recd. none. I asked to send thru courier and then again silence. I paid him in Apr'06 and got the material in Nov'06.

Replying to [mahao]: Normally exporters are dying to sell their products. It is a difficult job to find a serious overseas buyer. In your case there might be some confusion
1. It is quite possible that the way you are communicatng with your suppliers may be leaving an impression as a vague inquiry. You just try to modify your presentation and then try.

2. Their silence may also be because of the quantity part. They may be expecting big quantity orders from you. And also could bethe reason that your requirements are too big for them to handle effectively. In short, your requirements may not be matching with their expectaions.

3. Their silence may also be because of the reason that they might be thinking China has a capability of producing at the rock bottom prices which is impossible for them to meet. If this is the case, then you give them your target prices along with the specifications and the quantity required. You should get response. Best of luck.
