This is my first time considering to purchase stainless steel jewlery for our business, it started we one location and we are up to four now. Which is why we decided to go direct to the manufacture rather than the wholsaler we have been buying for all these years. In short, where to start. I am so confused. Should I go to a tade fair in China? Should I risk buying from manufactures I meet thorugh this wonderful site? With jewelery it is complicated, as I am sure it is for any business, in that the quality has so much to do with it.

So far I am requesting samples from some of the potential factories?
Any other sugestions?

Replying to [mvjewelry]:Many buyer would like to do business with manufacturer directly, due to it can reduce their cost. But when they benefit from there, they take risk on the other side. They don't sure if the factory can meet their request, quality,bulk delivery date. I suggest you can go to audit the factory after you compare their quotation and sample quality, to check their factory size, their equipment and so on.

Replying to [mvjewelry]:There's so many manufacturer in China for same items.You must compare the partener carefully before doing business.Qulity,price and service are always important.In my opinion,first you should find the kind person who care about clients' want and thoughts.That's most important.

Replying to [mvjewelry]:Definately you can buy from the manufacturer but please be sure to get froper authantication, i.e. you may take references from some reliable parties. always remember Prevention is better than cure.

Replying to [mvjewelry]: Your decsion of buying directly from the manufacturers or the merchant exporters ( i.e. wholesalers) will also depend upon your capacity of buying per design per pattern. If you can afford to buy in bulk, i.e. in large quantities, you should approach the manufacturers in China but in case your capacity is less and you want various designs in small quantities, it would be better for you, rather feasible too, to contact the wholesalers who keep ready stocks from different manufactures. This way you can have different designs / or varities in smaller quantities of different manufacturers.

In my opinion, I suggest to buy from your wholesellers.
It is so hard to give your small quantity to a manufacturers, although they accept your quantity. they do not pay much attention to your small order, so this may be some problem with the product quality.
But if you are confident with your order quantity, that's ok to buy directly from the manufacturers, that is to start with small quantity and testing the manufacturers' quality.

Replying to [mvjewelry]:I thinks first of all you should investigate the manufacture, through its website, showroom in internet, contact information, ect. the send some inquiry, check whether they would reply promptly, negotiate with them, can check that whethe they are honest or credible.
Of course, if the price and other terms with advantage, you can consider of cooperating with trade company, but should be based of the credible trade company.
