Can I trust someone who ask me for free samples?
Post 1 of 61
I have got a enquiry from a Gold Supplier and he wants to send him free samples (two pounds) through FEDEX on his account. He is telling me do not worry about the payment, he is going to pay on his side. How can I be sure that he is going to pay?. Does he has to send me his FEDEX number account?
Thanks.

Replying to [Galactea]:Galactea you are more than welcome and thanks to any one else who have send positive respond on this matter,

Susanny you are right they all have terms and it is stated very clear, have you taken the time to read FedEx, DHL, TNT Etc disclaimer???

Or even better why don’t you just call FedEx hotline service center and ask who is responsible for paying the fright of the sample if you make the order and the receiver refuse to make the payment,

For you Shenzhen 86-20-87632866

I hate to tell you this but you are wrong on this one

This scam is not common but it has been posted many times on the Fraud Forum, there is a possibility that you can loose out, don’t miss out a good chance and kindly ask your client to make the booking with FedEx and you will not be sorry[em19]

It seam like our good friend Vikasdas have experience this before /\/\

How to say this kind of issue, give some ideas about it
1)When you sent the sample,as soon as possible call the guy
2)At this time, ask him/her the arrival time to confirm
3)Give your deadline to your customer ahead of time
(Just for reference)

Jeje

Sometimes we really find it hard to

find some samples en china ,even
some supplier confirmar that the product es made in china.....

We encountered one interesting thing to
buy one Sample from ebay By asking someone's help
with his registered purchasing account...

Once we got the sample and we can easily
find a facotry to copy and mould it and put it into production line......
sometimes it requires to do some amendment
if it is patented products....

Easy job in china .....
You need to see whether this company want to import
or it will do export....

Replying to [Galactea]:Hi My friend

I had never faced a proplem like this. All my customers which had gave the account number, they always paid the freight. The point is all my customers was known persons from me.Our relationships was old with them. So,I mean If you dont know the customer personally,,you can ask him kindly to call the fedex in his or her country to pick up your samples. So you can minimalize your risk.Imagine that if send everyone sample like this,,we can not handle with this trouble. GOOD LUCK

From the buyer side, don't waste your time trying to beg free samples off suppliers. Just pay in full in advance for the samples and shipping and you will have a whole lot less headache.

Consider that Alibaba suppliers get lots of scam requests for free products.

Yeah. I think you should trust him.
sometimes we also offer free sample to our customer, the only thing they need to do is offering us his Express account. Besides, as you said, he's a golden supplier-------doesn't it seems trusty?
