Guangzhou Customs completed the duty collection amount of the whole year of 2006 in the first three quarters of 2007, which set a new record. As of September 30, the depositing revenue amount of Guangzhou Customs is 22.404 billion yuan which is 5.521 billion yuan more than the same period last year, with a substantial increase of 32.7%. It was the best record in history.
Statistics showed that from January to September, the total export and import volume in Guangzhou Customs Area was 60.398 billion US dollars, with an increase of 21.3% compared to the same period in 2006. With regards to imported products, the traditional duty sources such as energy, mechanical and electrical products, industrial raw materials products and automotive parts remain the main sources.
In recent years, Guangzhou Customs has firmly focused on the central area of Guangzhou and takes advantage of the logistics functions of the Nansha port and the Airport. It also encourages the rapid development of logistics in Foshan and accelerates the development in the five areas that will start later. The duty revenue of Guangzhou Customs is growing stably and continues to hit a new high every year.
