Doing the business of expediting LC payments is the US-based Quality Letters of Credit Inc (QLC) who has partnered with the US Council for International Busines (USCIB). But I haven't learned of any doing the same in other parts of the world

If you have a good relation with your bank, you can ask your bank for cash in advance of your LC, but for that you have to pay some interest rate.

Now-a-days there is SWIFT transactions available for all Financial business transactions.So opening of LC and adviseing to ther other end is in seconds. If the benificiery submits al the documants in tact to his bank,his Bank can pay the amount ( if it is a sight LC )as per the openning Banks LC terms. Replying to [parvez]: If the L/C is issued by the first class bank and if it is "At sight", you will get the payment in next 48-72 hours though SWIFT, once the importer releases the documents, sent by you through your bank, to get the consignment cleared from the customs. For availing SWIFT facility, you will have to provide the SWIFT number of your bank to your importer and it should be one of the clauses mentioned in your L/C.
