I was attending many trade shows in china during passed 3 years..


Canton fair for me is less attract than before, because you have to pay extra money for your hotel, and spend more time on sourcing in a very crowed exhibition hall. it is really inefficent.



Now, i prefer to attend some industry specific  trade shows, such as Hong Kong Light show which is only for lighting appliances



What do you think? the Trade Shows as Canton Fair or Specific industry trade show??

Replying to [itradeshows]:Hi,may be in some aspects you are right but as you know that some specific fair they usually can not attract the buyer from all over the world to buy it.
We'd better to choose the large scale trade show no matter specific or not.

Replying to [itradeshows]:whether the Canto Fair or specific industry trade show should be worthy attending or not depends on your own .Exactly ,attending every trade show will cost you a lot .so you should be prepared for that .Anyway .you can win a lot ,if you attend each show ,though you have spent a bit enough money.Frankly speaking ,I have not attended any trade show .

Contan Fair are famous for its abundant commodities made in china .nevertheless, the government could give it more open policies to the vendors . however,to plenty of exhibitors is still challenging, they spent much energy and cost for this exhibition,but they never know what will bring themselves at last .you know the marketing is uncertain and vendor may not give you any order .so i think specific industry exhibition could more attract small-scale factories .

Hi dear.. you have picked a very relevant point on this forum....

My pick on the issue is if you want quantity or you want quality....Generally what we get in trade shows are enquiries and RFIs.... So if you want alot of enquiries go to a fair like Canton.... and if you want lesser but quality enquiroes go to an Industry specific Trade show...

I have been doing the industry specific trade shows from last many years and find them worth.....but be cautious about a number of Industry specific trade shows that are just for the name sake and do not have a good buyer turnout.....

In a fair like Canton there is a flood of buyers... buy you have to check how many buyers are there for your products category... the number many be lesser for a trade specific show.

But no doubts about the success of the Canton fair... I myself want to do it once sometims... would welcome the views from the forum members....

If you are serious player in your industry, you must Attend BOTH the Canton fairs and Industry Specific fairs.
