A company I found on Alibaba.com. Atlantic Surplus misrepresented its goods and now I am out $20,000.00. This was my first time getting into the Used clothing business and now all my capital is gone. The owner of the company Paul Karpowitcz is not been corperative on the phone, he yells and calls me names. I am talking to a lawyer but do I have any other options like reporting him to the BBB and the attorney Generals office etc.? I am very bitter, I am a young woman starting out and he took advantage of my naiveness.

I have never called this person any names on the phone. I never raised my voice on the phone however she keeps screaming at me and it was very difficult to explain things to her.

I feel sorry for this buyer. I believe she was scammed by her own people. She was not scammed by my company.

If she had come to our warehouse to inspect the merchandise (as I had told her many times) she would have seen that the merchandise she describes as having been sent could not have come from our warehouse. She said she was too busy to come to our warehouse

This buyer wasn't there in Africa when the container was unloaded. She did not see what we sent her. She was naive to think that she could ship merchandise to a country that has very significant problems with thievery and fraud and not be there when her container was unloaded. Her partners showed her clothing but it was not ours. This happens to many USA buyers who have relatives and partners in Africa

As I said I feel sorry for this woman. As she said she is new to business. She should have come to our warehouse to inspect the clothing and she should have been there when the container was unloaded.

Our company in no way defrauded her.

I was in Ghana myself to receive the goods since this is my first time doing this business. I paid for the clearing cost. I was there when the container was opened and I was shocked to see the container was full of heavy clothing, 70% Grade C clothing, tartered, torn, worn and ripped. You basically sold me Junk.

I will email you my travel itenary to show you I was in Ghana. When I asked to come to your warehouse you gave me several excuses and told me you ahve samples on your website and I will be getting the same thing. You lied, you are dishonest and greedy and YOU RIPPED ME OFF!

You better come clean because I am sure you are doing this to a lot of people.

Dont think you can threaten me to shut up. You sent an email to my box telling me you will report me to the Police, FBI, my embassy and Immigration. Go ahead, knock your self out!. I am a legal permanent US resident and I dont care what you do. I know my rights and I am coming after you. Just watch.

We sent all Grade A merchandise to this buyer. It was all summer weight. We asked this person NUMEROUS times to come and inspect clothing at our warehouse before purchase.

We are not going to comment further on this matter.
